Flip Murray takes on variety of challenges
Quote:
AUBURN HILLS -- Pistons guard Flip Murray likes to think he can handle any situation.
Come off the bench? Sure.
Start? Why not.
He'll play point guard, shooting guard, whatever.
Call his name, and Murray will be there.
Which is a good thing, considering Murray has done all of the above in his first seven games as a Piston. Early season injuries to Rip Hamilton (hyperextended right elbow), and now Lindsey Hunter (sprained right ankle), have made Murray's role change with the situation.
"And that's OK, because I like to be able to play at the one (point guard) or two (shooting guard), start, come off the bench, it's all good to me," said Murray, who signed with the Pistons during the offseason.
"I'm not one of those guys who has ever had things be easy or simple. I took a hard road to get here, from smaller colleges, through (NBA) training camps, and I think that's made me a lot stronger and focused.
"I never get too high or too low, I just work hard and do my job -- whatever it is that day."
