Sophomore team announced, no Maxiell

Quote:
The league announced its participants for the rookie challenge game during All-Star weekend, and Pistons forward Jason Maxiell didn't make the cut for the sophomore team.

"That would have been a nice achievement," said Maxiell, who scored 16 points. "But I am still young. I have a chance to be an All-Star in the next couple of years if I work hard enough."

Only two forwards were selected -- New York's David Lee and Indiana's Danny Granger . Also picked were centers Andrew Bogut (Milwaukee) and Andrew Bynum (Lakers), and guards Monta Ellis (Golden State), Raymond Felton (Charlotte), Luther Head (Houston), Deron Williams (Utah) and Chris Paul (New Orleans).

Paul is just returning from injury and could opt to sit out the game. Maxiell could still make the team as a replacement player.

I think its bull****. Just because Maxielll isn't getting mins like Bogut or Bynum doesn't mean he isn't good

Too bad, but I can't make a case for Maxiell. All those guys are contributing more and proven themselves in regular rotation for a while and Max hasn't.

I gotta agree while I'd love to see Max there I can't honestly say he should be instead of any of the others. I love that he believes he could be an all-star one day with hard work he knows he's got a way to go buts willing to put in the work

I love the kids game as anyone that reads my posts on this forum knows...but he doesnt get the pt that the others do, I firmly believe that if given the same pt as the others he would defenitely be on. He just has that never quit attitude that you cant teach...its born into you. and that is what makes you a champ.

Re: Sophomore team announced, no Maxiell

Yeah. His attitude is great. He's fine with getting the mins he gets, and even in those mins he produces something only an all star would. Give him like 12-15 mins on the court and he will get you a dozen points or more.
