That's a good point, I just think that once the ball hits the rim it should be available to the offensive team. I can see how the rule would apply
before the ball hits the rim, in which case it would be like guiding in a team's shot, but I don't like how a ball bouncing off the rim, yet still within the cylidner, is any different than a ball just about to bounce out of the cylinder. Either the shot would go in anyway, or the shot would bounce out. Award the player goign up for the offensive rebound.
