That sucks. Watch them come back just to throw it away. We haven't been good down the stretch of games all season.
At least McDyess and Tayshaun came to play today...

Not having Rasheed hurt much worse than I thought it would. The defense was lost without him.
Plus, it meant we had to play Dale Davis and Nazr Mohammed, who are so bad they actually seem to make their teammates WORSE.

The Pistons didn't have to win this game. We are pretty much assured of the 1 seed in the east. We were down 22 points on the road without our best post player facing Shaq... If someone made a shot at the end of the game we could win or atleast force OT. That was a pretty good outcome for the Pistons considering where they were at halftime

Yea. The way we played the second half, it still says we have what it takes to win the east. And this was without sheed also. This is not the first time Detroit has come back in the second half after being down a huge number of points. It's happened a lot and no one should count us out anymore at any point of the game. I mean who would have that that at half time, Detroit would take the game tying shot with 8 seconds left on the clock.

shaq was 2 deep it was a blocking foul not a charge. it was great to watch us come back though. The funnest game to watch with a Pistons loss for a long time

yeah, he also pushed off an dice for the dunk at the end of the game
in the first half, shaq, on consecutive plays, used his off arm to hold off dice and then mohamed. no call.
shaq and wade get the most preferential treatment from the refs I've ever seen.
Having said all that, the Pistons looked very lethargic in the first half. I was particularly frustrated with Billups. He needed to be much more aggressive. Maybe he has no confidence against Miami.

Re: Game Thread: Pistons @ Heat: Mar. 2/07
I don't know why Billups struggles against Miami. He's been awful against them going back to last years series. I'd expect going against Gary Payton he'd have as easy of a time as anywhere, since that's who he exploited for finals MVP in 04.
Saunders also seems less than his best against Miami. Maybe he isn't to blame for everyone playing bad in the first half, but all of our called plays out of time outs sucked. In the last play, I guess Webber got an open three, but he's a pretty low percentage shooter from there and none of his jump shots were falling that game... in fact earlier in the game I was wondering if he could even see properly with his eye problem...

I really hated watching this game at the beginning and then watch us blow it at the end. Why do we always got to get ourselves in holes??!! bah Seems it has become natural for them to think we can overcome any deficit .

Can someone pull up a video of that? I think Tay got the ball in the lower befensive block so there's no restricted section.

weather they had to win it or not is irrelevant. at the end of the day, the W is what counts.

At the end of the day playoff seeding is what counts to me. No Sheed down 20 plus points in the 2nd half and we have a shot on the road to tie before the buzzer goes off? That isn't a bad game win or loss for us. I understand the Heat needed the win to keep some distance on the 9th seed as it showed in effort. Effort was the differance in the game and I give the Heat credit for showing it all game long.
