Possible 1v8 matchup
I dont know if any of you have had this thought come across your minds but we could face up with the heat in the first round. I find that interesting. Discuss

Re: Possible 1v8 matchup
Miami is 7th with New Jersey, Orlando, and the Knicks behind them. I don't see the Heat finishing 8th. My guess is New Jersey which is interesting.

Re: Possible 1v8 matchup
I think the Nets could be a real possibility. I'm not positive on RJ's injury either.
I really don't see us facing the Heat, because even without Wade, I can't see a Shaquille O'Neal team just barely squeezing into the playoffs. They will be seventh at least, I can even see them passing the Pacers and stealing sixth.

Re: Possible 1v8 matchup
I like the Knicks. I pull for Isiah and I use to be a Knicks fan when Ewing played for them. It would be a nice match-up for the Pistons. I don't think the Knicks would win more than two games at most, but they would make them play hard.
I hope it isn't the Heat. The Pistons don't match up well with them and I think Riley is a far better coach than Saunders- so the Pistons would have to overcome that.
I think the Nets would be difficult to face in the first round, but they would ultimately bow out in 5 or 6.
Orlando would be the best case scenario for a walk over victory, but I don't think they will make the playoffs.

Re: Possible 1v8 matchup
I'd rather face a west coast 8th seed like Denver or the Clippers than face the Knicks, Heat, or Nets. All of those guys could play extremely hard for a first round. There is a chance the knicks become dangerous in the playoffs but on the other hand they might be really easy, but I don't want any surprises..
I hope the magic don't make the playoffs since we have their pick.

Re: Possible 1v8 matchup
I'm not really sweating any first round matchup possibilities other than the Heat. Indiana is on a bit of a freefall, so unless something really bad happens to Shaq, the Heat will probably make it in 6-7th. I didn't realize that Orlando and New York had the same records, that's kind of shocking given their respective starts. Orlando still seems like the better team, but I'd have to check their upcoming schedules to see how that turns out. Hope Orlando gets in the lottery though, since we have their pick.
