S&T Chauncey to Denver?
If worse comes to worse would you S&T Chauncey for Camby/Nene, and then sign... Bibby or Mo Williams?

Chauncey Billups would be receptive to the idea of a sign-and-trade deal that could land him with the Nuggets, according to agent Andy Miller.
In order for the Nuggets to complete such a deal, they would have to deal Marcus Camby or forward Nene.
Billups and Vince Carter will be the two most coveted free agents this summer.
"Vince Carter is an exciting player. I can't do all the high-wire stuff he does. That's not my game. He can get 30 points in his sleep. He's the sexy player on the free-agent market," Billups said. "But, if you ask me, the two most important positions in basketball are center and point guard. When you've got a chance to get one of the best point guards in the league, I hope some people will take a look at that."

Re: S&T Chauncey to Denver?
If we are going to lose Billups the best option seems to be a sign and trade so we don't end up with nothing. But Denver doesn't have any one, or even two players, I'd like to see for maxish money more than Billups. Of course I'm ignoring the idea that we could S&T for Carmelo, and same with Iverson. We might be able to get AI who is a better player than Billups but it is risky.
I don't know how good Camby and Nene are these days. I don't watch Denver games even tho they're on TV a lot. But we already have Sheed, Dice, Webber, Nazr, Max, and Johnson.

Hell no, we dont need a step back and Camby and Nene arent as good as our current bigs. If we could get an aging AI with a prospect? maybe

It sounds weird hearing Billups trying to raise his value almost every other day. He should focus on playing for the Pistons right now.

You gotta be kidding....why would the Nuggets do this? They have Iverson and now there just givin up their best big men for a player they dont even need? Doesnt make sense bro.

He did the same thing when he was campaigning for MVP (lol) last year. It's pretty off-putting if you ask me.

I wouldn't mind Nene. We need some youth.

The only suitable replacements I could see for Chauncey are Bibby or Baron Davis

One of them may be possible to get this off-season!

Re: S&T Chauncey to Denver?
Good God, not Davis. He annually misses at least a third of the season and his shot selection is horrid. There are games where he is brilliant, but then you get the games where he shoots 2-14 from three, and those are far more common.
Bibby's had a monstrous off-year, those who point to Billups's slump should check this out. He's been better lately, but he's not much of a passer, and he's not useful if his shot isn't falling.

Once again Billups wants to get paid. He isn't interested in leaving but rather getting paid. He wants his number retired and to be the leader of the team he is on. Do those things happen playing with AI and Melo? You would need two balls.... Also Denver would have no post left unless Martin came back healthy.

Do I want to hand the keys to the offense to a guy who is best known for running a team who had the worst game 7 collapse ever or a guy who can't stay healthy in his mid-20s?
If I am I getting a near max to max like those two, why wouldn't I just pay Billups?

I'm not saying I'd rather have those two over Billups. I'm saying, if it gets to a point where it looks like we will lose Billups, those are the guys I'd want running the team. What would we have left instead? Hunter starting? Blalock?
By the way, Bibby was in no way responsible for that loss to the Lakers in 2002. He played great all series long. They lost because 1. the refs 2. poor FT shooting in game 7. 3. disappearing act by webber at the end of game 7 4. the awful shooting of peja and christie in game 7.
Davis is injury riddled, but I think he might actually be better than Chauncey when he is healthy. He is much quicker. I like the fact that Davis actually tries to go to the basket. It seems Chauncey rarely goes to the basket. He can't finish because he is too slow and/or can't jump. Davis would break down the D.
