Re: 2007 Piston Draft Pick Status

Orlando 34-40 sitting in 8th in the east. If they lose out (lol) every Eastern team but Boston could still pass them if those teams won some games. Not likely but hey I am a postive guy.

4 west teams have a better record then the pistons. 15th and 26th it looks like.

All I got to say, find a way to get me Mike Conley Jr Mr Dumars.

Re: 2007 Piston Draft Pick Status

Think he's coming out or just wishful thinking? He did have a fantastic tournament, and he seemed like he was one of the only Ohio perimeter players who knew how to pass into the post. I've been told he's a streak shooter and doesn't have NBA range, which could be a minus, but I think it'd be a coup if we could get him at our current position. Still, if Atlanta or any number of other teams have their pick before us, I think it'd be hard to pick him up.

Re: 2007 Piston Draft Pick Status

With the amount of centers in this draft it wouldn't be out of the question that he would be picked in the 10 to 14 range. Orlando would have to be in the lottery for us to get him.

As of now it sounds as if he is going to stay in school but really thats just talk at this point. I know his father has a good amount of money from his pro days but we don't know what the kid is really thinking. April 27th, we will know.

Re: 2007 Piston Draft Pick Status

Orlando is now going to be picking 15th it seems as they have clinched a playoff spot. We should be able to get someone there who can help us.

Re: 2007 Piston Draft Pick Status

I would love to get Conley, but I doubt he makes it past Atlanta. The last thing we need though is more Darko-ism. I think Thornton would get much more PT than Conley would. Someone who can play now will help. Conley would lead a half-way decent youth movement in Detroit though.

Re: 2007 Piston Draft Pick Status

Hards to figure out Conley's potential PT in Detroit because who knows what might happen if we got him? Do you give Billups as much money knowing you might have a top end PG on your team already? Not saying I let Billups walk because of Conley but do I lower my offers a bit? yes
