How are we all the way up at 27 for our own pick? We don't have the 3rd best record in the league. We have been like 28-30 for the last 4 years... it sucks.

That was my mistake. I used the ESPN standings and it was in a funny order. 26th going into tonights games.
I honestly don't mind picking at the end of round one because Joe D has been showing he does a much better draft at that point. Max, Prince, and Okur come to mind instead of lottery picks Rodney White, Mateen Cleaves, and Darko.

It doesn't seem like that's happening, Marbury and Frye missed time in the Dallas game because of injuries, and they're already without their most efficient guy (Lee). They have two games against New Jersey at the end of the year that will probably solidify one of those teams into the playoffs. Here's hoping that they win their game against Orlando as well. But they have a tough rest of the month, Cleveland twice and Dallas.
I think the best case would be for New York to make it past Indiana or New Jersey, since Chicago has their pick.
I am ok with Chicago drafting high as long as its not 1st or 2nd. I know a lot of people talked about all the cap room they had lately, but that is almost a thing of the past. Once Deng, Gordon, and Hinrich are all making real money along with Ben, they will be overshooting the luxury tax.

Hm, we also have our normal pick. It's probably not worth looking at the jockeying for position (we're hanging around with Utah and Houston), but if this draft is as deep as people say it is (and I think it probably is), we can still get a useful player there. Joe Dumars has had more success with later picks than with the lottery.
