Re: Game Thread: Pistons @ Rockets: Mar. 22/07
Can't believe Houston just missed two free throws. Would have been nice to get some points on the postion before hand and this would be possible still

Okaaaay, not like that. But McGrady misses both free throws, if we had capitalized then...

Re: Game Thread: Pistons @ Rockets: Mar. 22/07
Houston deserved to win just because they had more effort all night. Cleveland hasn't been on fire so this loss doesn't have me worrying to much yet.
Would be nice if the Piston could get a 10 game run going soon though to leave no doubt the last week or two of the season.

I think every time we've been behind and fouling in the final minute of a game and gone to Rasheed for 3 he's never made it this season. I have no stat but it seems like it. I hope I never see it again.

Re: Game Thread: Pistons @ Rockets: Mar. 22/07
Like JoeD, Houston is my second favorite team, so this loss doesn't sting as much as it would have otherwise (well, it certainly would have stung if we got blown out). They also legitimately outplayed us for most of the game, but the fourth quarter was heartening. Rip's been off, but solid production from the bench. Webber has tapered off slightly as well, but I expected that to some extent.
Well, now I can go back to rooting for Houston on the side.

Even though it came up to be irrelevant who else thought Billups was clever in getting that call from Battier when the ball was loose? Billups had a good 4th quarter, though I wish he had been exploiting Alston all game.

Re: Game Thread: Pistons @ Rockets: Mar. 22/07
this game looked like a cruise control game.
I think about once every 9 or 10 games, the Pistons decide they aren't really going to give a full effort.
Oh well, let's just hope it doesn't turn into a losing streak. The Spurs will be very tough tomorrow though.

Re: Game Thread: Pistons @ Rockets: Mar. 22/07
Taking the Spurs on the back end of one of our league-leading number of back to backs is no cakewalk, that'll be a real pain in the ***.
But my real issue with this game was that in the end Yao Ming came away with two personal fouls. TWO. Seriously? Are you guys kidding me? We got him to commit an offensive foul and a defensive foul within the first two minutes, and he stayed in... and we didn't keep driving at the guy. What the hell is wrong with Flip Saunders? Could he not have called timeout and told them to hammer it in on Yao, get him in trouble quick and early?
Nope, he just lets them shoot.. Ugh.
-Chris.

Flip's got his own style, personally its not one that I would normally like to have on my bench

Man you guys had me very very worried there in the 4th Q of this game. For the longest time I was yelling at the TV toawards the Rockets inability to grab a rebound midway through the 4th quarter.
Good comeback, and hompefully you guys take the East back to where it belongs. Great effort in the 4th Q.

Part of that is Chauncey's fault as well. I mean, he is supposed to be the coach on the floor, right?
Sometimes Chauncey is really frustrating with this poor decision making skills. Maybe there is a reason why people rated him so poorly early in his career

Re: Game Thread: Pistons @ Rockets: Mar. 22/07
I missed the game .But if we do meet agains(finals ) would be great game today (again didnt watch the game but I would think Billups would not have been 100%. And Yao even though he has been back for a while has not become the same player he was before yet. His endurance especially is down. If those two can become their old selves then we have one hell of a finals on our hands.
Sounds like you guys played well despite Billups in his first game back??

Billups wasn't a 100 percent last night and if someone was going to attack the paint, he is usually doing it. He must not wanted to push the issue. Hopefully he heals and gets back to his posting up ways.
