Re: Would you do this trade?
No. Sheed is a far better player than PJ Brown and is five years younger than him. Amir Johnson is supposed to have tremendous potential.

Re: Would you do this trade?
I wouldn't even consider it unless Chicago threw in New York's first round pick... and even then it would only warrent 'consideration'.

Re: Would you do this trade?
PJ has no value unless he's expiring, and I'd rather have Sheed than Thomas. And if we did trade Sheed it shouldn't be for power forwards. We have enough of those.
edit: Actually everything we do from now on should be based on playoff results in my opinion. If we get obliterated in the second round than maybe it is time to rebuild and do that trade, but I don't know.

Re: Would you do this trade?
I don't have a great opinion of Tyrus Thomas, but I wouldn't even want to ship off Amir Johnson for Thomas alone. I would probably end up doing it just for the sake of acquiring one more tradeable asset, but I don't think Thomas is doing anything in Chicago that Johnson wouldn't be doing if given the same opportunity. Granted, we haven't seen much of AJ, but it's not like we've seen a lot from Thomas other than his athleticism and tendency to put his foot in his mouth.
Throw in Rasheed Wallace for PJ Brown and this is a complete dud.

Re: Would you do this trade?
No. Rasheed has alot more in the tank than P.J. Brown, and is too important to the team, despite his antics. Ty Thomas looks like he is going to be a good player, but I still want to see what Amir can give us in the next couple years (Assuming we re-sign him). I think he could be just as good as Ty Thomas is/will be.

Re: Would you do this trade?
No way. Although we may need to trade sheed sometime before his contract...this is not a good trade for the Pistons.

I would say a bit of both. If Tyrus ever has a injury or chornic pains in any parts of his legs, would he still be effective? Skill set wise he doesn't strike me as a player that could play at the same or somewhat same level post injury.
Amir is just so young that he still has all the upside in the world. He has produced in the NBDL so I would like to see him come up and play. Also contract wise Amir will be a differant (lower) tax bracket so that is always a postive.

Re: Would you do this trade?
Speaking of contracts, Amir is going to be a free agent. I don't see why he would have any interest in resigning here.

Reasons Amir would stay
Money- Pistons are higher on him then most other teams (Hence how we got him in the first place). Pistons may be a lot more inclined to give him a chunk of the MLE even if needed.
Future PT- Its not out of the realm that we lose either Dice or Webber this offseason and trading Rasheed is only a season or two away. Amir has a much higher ceiling as an offensive post threat compared to Mad Max so you know he his in the future plans.
Loyalty- How many teams passed on him that draft? Pistons drafted him and gave him a two year deal. The Pistons even sent a team rep with him during all of his NBDL stays.
Reasons for Amir to bolt
Darkoism - The only reason I see Amir wanting to leave is if he feels that the team won't play him at any point in time. NBA playing team isn't going to be in his cards leaps and bounds next season.
This core of this team is going to continue to change over the next 2 seasons and Amir is going to be a big potential piece.
If this team loses round 1 or 2 I think Joe D blows it up. At that point he would want to rebuild around Prince, Max, and Amir rather then just resigning Webb and Billups to keep the ship as is.
If we win this playoffs, you will see the same core next season. If we go out early, new coach and new team build.

Re: Would you do this trade?
According to Dumars, he gets a lot of calls about Amir. There's a good chance someone offers him more money and more playing time.
