East Playoff Picture
New Jersey just denied Chicago the 2nd seed. I'm glad they don't have any easy path to the ECF, but this means they'll be in our path, I think.
If Indiana beats Washington (they are down one point with 18 seconds left right now) we can play them in the first round. That would be a free series.
Otherwise we play Orlando. We swept them this season and probably would in the playoffs, but I think they could give us more trouble than we want in the first round.

Re: East Playoff Picture
Chicago matches up really well with Miami. I'm sort of worried there, since a second round meeting between us and the Bulls could be exhausting, and I'm not too excited about facing Wade and Shaq so early either. Best case scenario there is that their series goes seven games and they come in tired (which will probably affect Miami more than the Bulls, since Miami is old and the Bulls have depth).
The Cavs have a fairly easy road from now on, although the Raps could give them fits.

Re: East Playoff Picture
Damn, Washington wins and Cleavland wins the right to play them in the first round. We have Orlando and then the winner of Chicago-Miami. At least we finally will play Miami (I assume) coming off more rest and an easier series than they did. I hope our guys are motivated to get past the second round.
On the other side of the bracket it is pretty interesting. NJ vs TOR, CLE vs WAS. I could see NJ, Toronto, or Cleavland coming out of that. I think it will be Cleavland and that would be an interesting ECF. I'd like to see New Jersey, not because I think they are easy but because I like their team.

Re: East Playoff Picture
It's a disappointment that Arenas isn't around, another LeBron/Arenas matchup could be great. Even Caron could make it somewhat interesting, but this Washington team is the pits without those two.

Re: East Playoff Picture
Am I the only one who is happy Orlando is the 8th because if they were 6th or 7th that would have meant the draft pick would most likely have been higher?

Re: East Playoff Picture
As much as I want the Pistons to win it all, I think it will be very difficult for them to get past the 2nd round. Both Miami and Chicago play them very well and know all of their tricks.

Re: East Playoff Picture
If Chicago and Miami go 7 games and we go 4 against Orlando, we will be heavy favorites.

I have no doubt that the Pistons could beat almost any team in the league (except for maybe the Spurs) if they are completely focused. However, I'm not sure they will maintain concentration. I know they say they have been waiting for the playoffs to turn it on. Now it is time to prove it.

I agree mentally focusing is the biggest obstacle the Pistons will have this season. My point was just that if we have a short series and time off, we should win the 2nd round playing a team who is going to be a lot more tested.

Re: East Playoff Picture
The Miami/Chicago series is going to be pretty ugly and exhausting if this keeps up. Offensive fouls called every other trip down the floor, and Miami has this tendency to just floor Bulls players for some reason.

That is exactly what the Pistons want and need

I actually think the Heat really got the short end of the stick from the refs in that game today

Re: East Playoff Picture
Road team should always get the short end of the stick
