Restricted free-agent forward Amir Johnson has agreed to re-sign with the Detroit Pistons for an estimated $12 million over three years, NBA front-office sources told ESPN.com on Thursday.
The Pistons have now realized their top two offseason priorities by retaining the promising young Johnson and keeping 2004 NBA Finals MVP Chauncey Billups.
I think Amir is going to be a better PF than any of the PFs drafted today. He's going to be a really good player. I think a Josh Smith value at the least.
Amir looked in physically great shape during the summer league game today.
yeah, perhaps it is time to just give up on trying to get davis or webber to come back and just forge ahead with the young kids. Maxiell and Amir could add some much needed energy. Perhaps they should star Amir at PF. He has more height and I think could become a decent starter next year. Move Sheed to C. Bring Maxiell and Dice off the bench for the frontline.
We can give Amir & Maxiell plenty of minutes, but we still need a center.
then sign davis or play mohammed 15-20 minutes a game
i think davis is better than mohammed though
i would say the pistons should try to re-sign webber, but i don't think he'd tolerate playing 15-20 minutes a game. i think the starting center next year should get no more PT than that, so that Dice, Maxiell, and Johnson can get ample PT
Maxiell looks like a beast in the making. A lot of teams are gonna come calling when he's up for free agency..

How well is the Knicks Starters vs NBA Team Starters? 60%? 50%? 40%? or are we waiting to see by being optimistic because we have a new additional player in the Starting lineup that we assume Stat sheet record says he is better with this Knick roster than the guy he is replacing?
Happy to see Amir staying in Detroit. Everyone knows he can ball, and I'm hoping he can get some serious playing time off the bench to prove him self in the league. Really good move by Detroit not letting him go.

Atleast??? Nothing against Amir Johnson, but Josh Smith is a pretty good player, I'd be happy, if a player turnout half as good as Josh.
