Sheed has played spot duty at center, and it didn't really go badly. He and McDyess are long and annoying, so they can be pretty good defensive deterrents against smaller frontcourts. McDyess is the logical choice here. He can handle 25-30 minutes a night, he was arguably the best Piston towards the end of the regular season, and he has done work this summer so he's not coming in ice cold, which bodes well. Maxey and Amir should replace his punch off the bench, and Nazr can stick around for mismatches and for spot duty on bulkier guys. A lot of this is contingent on Amir being productive at the NBA level, but I have a lot of faith in him.
