Pistons offer for Kobe?
Link:
Quote:
Given the disappointment of losing to Cleveland in the Eastern Conference finals, many believed the Pistons were going to work a major deal in the offseason by breaking up the championship nucleus. Enter Bryant.
The buzz was the Pistons would part with Richard Hamilton, Tayshaun Prince, Amir Johnson and/or a first round pick for Bryant, arguably the best player in the NBA.

I don't see what's left after that trade + Kobe as a championship team, but that's just me.

Re: Pistons offer for Kobe?
That would be an interesting, shallow, team...
PG - Billups, Stuckey
SG - Bryant, Afflalo, Murray
SF - Hayes, Dupree
PF - McDyess, Maxiell
C - Wallace, Mohammed, Samb
I don't know exactly what I think of that squad. Shallow, especially at the small forward position, but it would definitely compete in the East.

Re: Pistons offer for Kobe?
I love Kobe, but he isn't for us. These guys will retire here.

Re: Pistons offer for Kobe?
I agree... Kobe's a great player, but Jarvis and Dupree is a really ugly set of 3s, and for a contender it's a very inexperienced set of backups.

Re: Pistons offer for Kobe?
This is our best team on paper since we broguht home the gold. Joe knows this. I just hope he isn't blinded by the Kobe hype.

Re: Pistons offer for Kobe?
Is there any reason why we wouldn't start Kobe at the 3 and Stuckey at the 2?
I don't even think that team would be all that shallow. You still could have Flip, Hayes, and Max on the bench.

Re: Pistons offer for Kobe?
No. We wouldn't be THAT shallow. Stuckey would definately start.
The more I think about it the more I want it to happen...

Re: Pistons offer for Kobe?
Kobe at the 3 and Stuckey at the two would really fix the major weakness of the lineup I posted up there. But I did forget about Lindsey, so you could always look at it like this...
PG - Billups, Hunter
SG - Stuckey, Murray, Afflalo
SF - Bryant, Hayes or Dupree
PF - McDyess, Maxiell
C - Wallace, Mohammed, Samb
I am 100% certain that this won't happen, but it does certainly look exciting on paper.

Ew why on earth would we do that... I think I just threw up in my mouth. Even though i think we should make a change this would do nothing but hurt us.
