Re: Nazr
The only thing that matters is we got expiring contracts for him.

Re: Nazr
This trade. Perplexes me. Like froggy said, this has to be purely for financial reasons. This trad eis just so irrelevant otherwise. I would hate, HATE if either of these guys gets into our regular rotation. It just seems so... nonPistons-like.

Re: Nazr
You're forgetting that Hermann had something like a 15gm streak last yr when he was averaging around 17ppg and playing really really well. Awesome trade for Detroit.

They save about 15 million dollars and get a garbage time superstar in Herrmann. Love the deal.

Re: Nazr
I'm not sure how I feel. Saving that much money is great. Does anyone see either of these two cracking our rotation though? Like it was said before they just aren't very "Piston-like." Another thing that boggles me is... This doesn't make anymore space for Webber than we already had!
Good luck with your starting job Nazr, and I hope Dupe finds a team somewhere!

Re: Nazr
I've long been a Nazr hater and hence I just love this trade! 2 expirings and 1 with some game...that will do just fine! THANK YOU JOE!

It's not exactly like Nazr was a rotation player. He got spot foul trouble minutes, and even then only would get in because they were trying to showcase him a little.
Maybe it's just me, but I think Walter Herrmann is a better player than Nazr - he at least does some things well. I think having a 6'9" hustle player who is lights out from 3 on the end of the bench is more useful than whatever Nazr gave us was.

Re: Nazr
at least walter Hermann can shoot the 3, none of the Pistons but Billups and Sheed can do it consistently, and i rather have Sheed stay in the post
i think that's just what the Pistons need, someone to spread the floor cause we always lose against zone defenses
i just hope walter can play some defense

Re: Nazr
How can you dislike this trade in any way as a Pistons fan?
1. The Pistons drop 15 million dollars in salary by picking up expiring deals.
2. Nazr Mohammed provided nothing but fouls. Nothing else. He went out, got in foul trouble, sat back down.
3. Walter Herrmann can shoot and spread it out to the perimeter as a big off the bench. He isn't going to be 52%/45% like last year, but he's better than 38%/35% as he has been doing this year. If he can provide 47%/39% from the floor while eating a minutes when our bigs get in foul trouble, I'm very happy.
4. Primoz Brezec is a career 50% shooter, is 7'1", and can grab rebounds with at least some proficiency. He isn't a total stiff and can give us a body that can at least hack at Dwight Howard and Kevin Garnett when our big men need a rest. So I'm happy with that. It is the first time we've had a 7'+ guy that isn't a complete stiff in a while.
So we get those guys for Mohammed and the release of Dupree? Good deal. I'm happy.

Re: Nazr
Walter is going to hustle, pester the opponent, and drain it behind the arc. He'll fit right in. He and Sheed will get along well!
