Hire Isiah as a coach?....
A guards coach.
Why not? He could teach our guys a lot, especially the younger ones. Kareem & Eqing do it for big guys!

Re: Hire Isiah as a coach?....
He's really worked wonders for the Knick guards.
Isiah might work as a draft consultant or something. He's had success with higher picks (Wilson Chandler, David Lee, arguably Balkman), and that's generally the kind that the Pistons will have. Of course, Dumars has gotten guys like Okur, Prince, Maxiell, and Amir with high picks as well, so I dunno how useful he'd actually be in that capacity.

While I think that Dumars' greatest mistakes were early on in his tenure with low picks (Darko obviously, Rodney White, Mateen Cleaves), he's done fairly well picking up players with higher ones, especially in recent years. The entirety of the Zoo Crew have been his picks, and other than Stuckey, they've been late picks. His record is far from perfect, but he's done well with his picks lately.

Re: Hire Isiah as a coach?....
Simply put, hiring Isiah Thomas would be suicide for the Detroit Pistons. In no capacity should he ever be involved with this franchise, other than being - at MOST - someone Joe Dumars hangs out with once or twice before the draft.
That's like somebody asking for cancer.

I mostly just view this site anymore..but I had to post on this one.. God no... Everything this guy touches since he retired turns to crap.. The best move Bill Davidson ever did is hire Joe D over Isiah.. and I loved Isiah... but no.. just no..

Well, for one thing, he's still employed by the Knicks.
