I'd even probably put Nash, McGrady, Amare, Pierce, Manu, and Deron over him.

Yeah I get that. I wouldn't vote him top-5 over the players I listed.
MVP voters historically place emphasis on victories. That he finds himself with the same amount of support as Jamison, Pierce, and Boozer (a mention) seems fine to me.
