Re: Pistons ask to speak to Mike Woodson
Ew. I don't really like Woodson at all, I just don't really regard him as a good coach

Re: Pistons ask to speak to Mike Woodson
I'd be more comfortable with Woodson than Curry.
I thought he did a great job while he was in Detroit and the players definately have a lot of respect for him.

Re: Pistons ask to speak to Mike Woodson
I'm kind of feeling good about Woodson. He is a great defensive coach. I still think we need to shake things up though.

Re: Pistons ask to speak to Mike Woodson
The thing with Woodson is that... he can't coach at all. But with a vet team like Detroit that needs little coaching... Woodson may be a good fit since he has history with them.

Re: Pistons ask to speak to Mike Woodson
Interesting development.
My whole take on the situation is that the Atlanta ownership wants Woodson to come back, but they would probably not want to offer more than a 1-year extension. Would Woodson accept? I don't know. I always figured that if Woodson didn't return, he would be in Charlotte with Larry Brown there.

Re: Pistons ask to speak to Mike Woodson
Woodson is moving sideways. If you're not going to get someone better than Flip Saunders, go with someone new. Curry is the ideal replacement. If they go forward with signing another horrible retread coach that has already failed elsewhere, I will be pissed off. Keep Woodson out of Detroit, PLEASE.

i agree. our number one priority with filling the coaching vacancy is to restore respect at that position. There's not a better candidate than curry that fits the bill.

How has Woodson failed?
His Atlanta team put up a better fight against Boston than Detroit did.

failure is probably a harsh word to describe woodon's tenure with the hawks. however, i dont like giving woodson too much credit for that playoff series. IMHO it had to do more with boston's inability to put up a fight on the road.
he's definitely not a bad coach. you look at the hawks record for the past four seasons, they have consistently improved their winning percentage. However, i think people look at this guy and they associate terms like "losing" and "hot seat"
he's not the type of hire the city would go nuts on.
