Dumars nixed deal with Portland?
Quote:

Dumars recently turned down a deal that would have sent one of his centers to Portland for small forward Ruben Patterson.

More:
The trade might involve a small forward because the Pistons likely won't sign Carlos Delfino, whom they took with the 25th pick in the June NBA draft.
Delfino's Italian team, Skipper Bologna, says the small forward from Argentina has no buyout clause or transfer deal in his contract. Team officials say they have every intention of keeping Delfino in hopes of winning the European championship, although Delfino has expressed a desire to play in the NBA.
Dumars had hoped Delfino, 6-feet-7, could be a backup at small forward or shooting guard. With that appearing unlikely, Dumars might try to strengthen the Pistons at small forward, where Michael Curry started last season with Tayshaun Prince and Corliss Williamson providing backup.

I don't know about you but look at it this way. We had an okay small forward in Curry who didn't do anything because we were huge last year (1st or 2nd in the East? How quickly I forget) anyway. Then having him backed up by 6th man of the year Corliss Williamson AND Tayshaun Prince...it doesn't sound too weak to me.

Yeah I want no part of Ruben Patterson on the Pistons at SF and especially with that salary. I've said many times before I don't want to end up like the Knicks starting two guys in SG bodies.

I think Patterson would have been a cancer. I honestly don't see what he would bring to our team if anything.

I don't either, I mean he could bring defense but we don't really need too much of that, but his contract to me outweighs anything that he could bring to us.

What is his contract like? Either way unless it is for like Corliss Williamson it would be pointless because we have enough SF's. Besides Williamson is better then Patterson anyway.

Dude, Michael Curry is terrible.
His stat line looks like binary code.
1 ppg 1 rebound 0 assits 1 steal 0 blocks 1 turnover.

Michael Curry starts but doesn't play starter minutes. His contributions to this team are not made on the court.
