With Kobe's legal future in question, I doubt any team would give much of anything for him before the end of his trial which could drag on for a long time.

Trade Kobe Link
This Article talks about possible trades for Kobe.
It is strange that it lists the same idea that I had.
"Detroit. Would the Pistons be willing to part with Ben Wallace and Richard Hamilton to get Bryant? If so, they could be a good match for the Lakers, and Detroit has enough big bodies in reserve to maintain a decent front line. (A deal for Corliss Williamson, Tayshaun Prince and Elden Campbell probably would look better from the Pistons' perspective.) With Bryant, Detroit immediately would be the best team in the East, and perhaps one that could keep pace with the title contenders in the West."

I find it funny that the Knicks trade idea is Kurt Thomas and Allan Houston. And on top of that the Lakers would have to throw in Kareem Rush and Devean George. If the guy is attempting at humor, why would he not indicate that? I wonder where this guy is from or if his true name is Layden.

Besides Dallas, why are we giving up so much? The Bulls offer is Chandler, Pippen, and Fizer but we give up Rip and Ben... get outta here!

I doubt Kobe is going to be traded by the Lakers this year. Their goal is to win a championship now, and as long as Kobe's leg starts getting stronger (which it will), there's no way they can get someone that will give them a better shot to be 2003-2004 NBA champs, regardless of the risk of Kobe leaving after the season.
but
If Kobe is serious about leaving to become the no-questions-asked offensive focal point, and to lead his own team, the Pistons would probably be one of his more attractive options. They're a dominant defensive team, and are already among the NBA elite... and while Chauncey and Rip are good offensive players, I'm pretty sure only their mothers would consider them to be "the man" if they're playing on the same team as Kobe Bryant. The Pistons would give Kobe a team with an allstar bigman that doesn't need the ball to be happy or effective, another potential franchise player in Darko who develops while Kobe carries the team offensively, and a solid group of shooters/defenders. He'd also be in the East, which means for at least for the near future, he has a better shot at winning the title because of less elite teams in the playoffs.
The Pistons really aren't that far away from max cap-room to make it happen (at least from what I see). If they can pull off a trade something along the lines of Chucky Atkins, Corliss Williamson and next years first rounder to NY for Charlie Ward and Othella Harrington, they'd be left with roughly 31 million dollars and 8 guys locked in for next year, meaning that there's a very realistic shot of max cap-room.
