If you guys win one it will be in spite of Brown.
|
Do you seriously think Larry Brown's coaching is a liability for a team?

While he wins, I think he destroys the team and then complains that he doesn't have enough to work with. He did it in San Antonio and Philly. He likes to make deals to make deals, and then he will complain.
I am just not fond of him in anyway. I think my prediction will prove correct over time as well.

Of course Darko should be playing but he shouldn't be getting more than 5 or 6 minutes a game when he's 5th on the depth chart. Why would the Pistons give Darko alot of minutes when they could be given them to someone like Memo who has already proven he can produce on both ends of the floor? That would be a stupid move. I could see them playing him more if they weren't as deep but they are very deep at PF/C so there's no reason to rush him. You also have to worry about the confidence of an 18 year old rookie who's never played pro basketball in America. You don't know what will happen if you throw him in the starting lineup and he gets dominated every night. The coaching staff knows what they're doing and people should just trust them to do their jobs.

Too bad he can't make front office decisions with Detroit, Dumars handles that and will continue to for a long long time.
So Brown doesn't have to worry about any GM issues, he can focus on coaching/teaching the game and have a chance at a championship in the process.

From the Free Press out of Larry Brown's mouth:
Quote:
|
In two games against Shaquille O'Neal and the Lakers, Ben Wallace got a busted lip, a bruised collarbone, a sore back courtesy of O'Neal's backside -- and a split in the two games between teams that could meet in the NBA Finals. . . . Brown said he expected rookie Darko Milicic to start playing more, especially with Zeljko Rebraca on the injured list with what was listed as back spasms.
|
This should make alot of you happy... what's the difference between this thread and the other one?

He completely BUILT Philadelphia's team that went to the Finals. Before Brown came they were the laughing stock of the NBA. I really fail to see how he destroyed that team.

I am not a big Larry Brown fan
I think he is an opportunist plain and simple. He realized that he would never win the NBA championship with Iverson and decided that Detroit was his best bet. He is not very good at developing talent, never has been. He milks the veterans as much as he can.
How can you draft a player number #2 and not play the guy at all. Is these supposed to improve Darko's confidence level. Shouldn't the Pistons start preparing for the Playoffs now.
In the meantime, Rick C. is building a powerhouse team in Indiana. Does anybody else notices how much better Indiana is now player with Rick as coach.

you are going to get in trouble for questioning the home team on this site, but i'm glad you did.while watching the game last night i observed so many mediocre players on both sides, especially the cavs,my first thought was if darko cant get in this game he never will.why dont they just move him for some middle of the road veteran and make everyone happy.

Rick Carlisle didn't play Prince or Okur until he was forced too, so what's really the difference?
Indiana is doing good now, but they are playing some of the best ball in the league and one of the easier schedules. Let the season go on for a little bit more and I think they'll come back to the pack.
Joe D., from the beginning, has been saying that Darko probaly would not be ready this year and that he is a project. So we knew all along that even though he was picked #2 it would be a while before he made a significant pick. The Pistons felt Darko would be the best fit for them in the near future, not now and that's why he was selected at #2.

Unless that middle of the road veteran is named Garnett or Duncan, who's going to be happy?
Get real.

You know, I'm so sick and tired of hearing this. Did Isiah Thomas not have a powerhouse team through the first part of the schedule last year? How about we wait a bit, atleast until Indiana get into a tougher part of their schedule.

Anyone that says trade him for a middle of the road vet, doesn't count. As harsh as that may sound, it's the truth.
