darko's confidence
in the one minute he was in the game it was obvious he has no confidence. add that to the fact that he missed a dunk and then put his head down with utter dissappointment. he definately needs more confidence aka playing time.

Yeah, on both of his attempts I was all excited Darko was going to get his first points. I can't believe he didn't. Honestly, I don't care how unready Larry Brown thinks he is, I'd rather see him playing than Corliss or Zelly.

I don't understand how such a "great" basketball mind like Larry Brown can fail to realize how badly the Pistons need Darko, RIGHT NOW.
Did he not watch the Pistons vs. Nets last year? The pistons do all of the little things right. But they have no consistent offense. That's why everyone was so excited about getting Darko. He is the consistent offense you need.
But he can't get that way sitting on the bench.
Larry Brown tries to play that game about how he isn't ready and all of that jazz--but I don't buy it for a second. With the things Joe Dumars said about this kid, and as good as Joe D has shown to be in evaluating talent...naw. Darko has the game right now. Larry Brown is just too stubborn and old school to play the rookie.
My other complaint, watching tonight, and maybe this isn't indicative of how the pistons have been playing, but I have a suspicion that it is--Billups looks afraid to shoot. It looks like Larry has turned off the green light he had last year. And folks, offensively, Billups is your best player. He and Hamilton are your offense. Running the ball through Ben Wallace in the post is outright moronic.
Brown is ruining your team.
He's trying to make the team fit what he had in Philly, but it's a diffrent set of players--and frankly, a lot of nights, the Sixers won in spite of Brown. Having an Allen Iverson on offense can offset a lot of the stagnation that Larry Brown's offensive sets seem to bring.

How do you know that Darko is the consistent offense? By all indications he has done nothing. How can you sit there and say you know that he is our consistent offense? I don't see how you can conclude that Darko has 'the game' now. Have you been sitting in on the practices? Give it time. The whole Pistons organization said this was going to be a long process.
As far as Billups goes, you must only be going by this one game. I did not see the game, but this year Billups is 100 times more free to create and shoot than he was last year under Rick Carlisle. That's one of the reasons the players turned on Carlisle. He gave absolutely no freedom to the point guard to call his own plays. There was no improvisation, just set plays called by Carlisle.

Yeah. On the Billups thing, I'm going mostly on what I've seen in the times I've watched Detroit when they've been on national television. Tonight Chauncy looked afraid to do anything.
The Pistons looked horrible against the Cavs tonight.

Sadly, he got his shot blocked by the rim. Somehow he didn't jump high enough.

I tend to agree. I'm happy to see Ben scoring more, but no big man should be shooting below 40%. And it would be one thing if he could convert a good number of his free throws when he gets fouled-but he can't. Ben should not be getting so many touches on offense.

Give Darko time
Remember how bad Jermaine O'Neal was when he first came in the league? If he can only be half the player O'Neal has become for the Pacers I will be happy. But Darko is from overseas, he is being put in with the big dogs in a bang up style, he hasnt played that style. Let him play how he would feel comfortable and see what happens. Nowinzki(? how do you spell Dirks last name) is a 7' guy who only plays a finesse game, why cant Darko?

Darko reminds me greatly of Primoz Brezec.
