Game Thread : Opening Night : 2005

PG: Carlos Delfino
SG: Richard Hamilton
SF: Tayshaun Prince
PF: Darko Milicic
C: Mehmet Okur
----------------------
PG: Chauncey Billups
PF: Ben Wallace
C: Andreas Glynadikas

Is anybody else as excited as I am about the future of this team? We may suck right now but I honestly believe we have one of the best futures in the league. If Delfino can come along well in the NBA, Darko lives up to the hype and Glyndo can prove the scouts that said he was lottery '04 potential right.

But before we worry about the future we have to get back from the 10-8 deficit to the Atlanta Hawks.

the fact that the pistons are in the eastern conferance makes it possible to not only stay in the race but actually make a run for the finals. i know that sounds rediculous the way they are playing but things can turn around pretty quick in this league. i wouldnt be adverse to making a trade, the problem with that is management seems to think they have all these supers on the team when in reality they dont. i think anyone besides;wallace, billups, hamilton and darko are expendable.

I feel the same way. I've said many of times, that we have one of the better futures in the league. We currently don't have any superstars (which Darko hopefully becomes), but we have and would have one of the best and possibly the best supporting cast of players in the league. Rip, Billups, Wallace, Okur, and Prince -- these guys would all be considered complementary players, and how many teams can name "complimentary players" of that caliber? Not many. And this is not even considering Delfino, Glyndiakas (sp), and the various draft picks we will make. A great future indeed.

I agree w/ you and all Kabi, but I just don't like the fact of Ben sittin man, I mean I would love that line-up but its just not right, I also , think that Chaunce is a great player and it would be hard to see him sittin over carlos...

Yea I figured they would still be playing then but maybe a few years AFTER that age will have taken its toll on the two warriors and they will take a smaller role.

I think Delfino is more on the small forward side of shooting guard than he is the point guard side. But with Sura gone next year he will probably take over the backup minutes at the 2 and 3. I don't know if we will ever really need Glyniadikis, but he may become some great trade bait, in a couple of years Joe could even cash him in for a first round pick.
