That last second 3 point attempt was really scary...I would have been so mad if the game had went into overtime on that shot. The Pistons didn't play great, but getting the win showed a lot of heart, and I hope Memo's play will force Larry Brown to rethink the way he uses Memo. I know Memo's not going to be shooting 14 free throws, but I think if he knew he was going to get 30-35 minutes every night he would be a near automatic double double. I just don't think the situation he's in right now-where his playing is varying so wildly-is good for his confidence or his development.
A few other thoughts about the game-First, I've noticed that a lot of the time the Pistons don't even bother to try to put a hand in a guy's face. They'd rather just watch the shot and then see if they can get the rebound if he misses. I've read that the average NBA player makes half as many shots with a hand in his face as he does open, but maybe Larry Brown knows something I don't. Regardless, to me it looks like a lack of effort.
Second, it looked like Chauncey (and maybe Chucky too) was forcing 3s at a couple points in the game. It was like he wanted to be the one responsible for getting the lead back, and he wanted to hit a 3 to do it. But him taking 3s early in the shot clock without being truly open could really hurt us and Larry Brown has got to do something about it.

I guess the Pistons just wanted it more. That or they are the better team.

You guys can thank Vince Carter for that win...his 4th quarter showing was pathetic. Credit to memo and rip...but the raps lost this for themselves

While were at it, let's give a little credit to the official that threw Ben out of the game.
Oh well, we played like crap. I'm glad we could pull it out in the end, though.

Last night was a sweet game, I managed to actually watch the second half. Live!
Okur was hitting everything, including from the line. Some of his putbacks were sick. Hamilton's jumpers in the end of the fourth were super clutch and sealed the victory. I thought Darko was gonna get some minutes when I heard Ben got the boot but then he didn't. I don't think Corliss did that bad in the second half, he had that nice momentum enforcing cram during our run in the fourth but that was mostly Hamilton's pass. Prince couldn't guard Vince and that kind of made me mad, I thought Prince was gonna be our stopper on the perimeter after hearing about how he shut down AI and TMac last year in the playoffs. Oh well.

That was a good win by a team that had back to back games in different cities. They showed some heart. Still have to say the Pacers are better. ha ha. OK dont jump down my throat. Good game though

As bad as we played earlier this year and as good as you guys had been playing, we are only 2.5 games back. I'd be worried if I were you guys. We've played our worst ball already...

I thought Tayshaun did a great job on D, he held Vince to 2-12 shooting in the second half. The only reason Vince had a bunch of points is because he shot 16 free throws. Tay was forcing him to take a ton of bad jump shots.

Prince did very well for playing injured. Brown said afterwards that he should not have played him as much as he did after he got hurt in the second quarter.

Well I don't see how you can say Tayshaun did a great job on Vince. Vince drove on Tayshaun will ease, and the only reason Vince went 2-12 in the second half was because of those 9 consecutive jumpers that he was taking early in the shot clock. Vince could have easily taken those 9 shots to the rim instead, gotten fouled, or dished out, but instead played perimeter. He played horrible in the 3rd.
Also, great game from Rip, Alvin Williams looked really slow and sloppy guarding him. And, Memo is going to be a real, real good player, got to the free throw line a lot, and was efficient, didn't really shoot this game, which is positive for a big man. He mostly got all his points off offensive boards, and inside shots. He was killing us.

Most of Vince's jump shots came after he would try to drive on Tayshaun once, Tay would cut him off, and then Vince would just turn and shoot. He did get beat a couple times towards the end, but remember, he was playing on a sprained ankle.

Nice article talking about how Tayshaun guarded Vince Carter and not only made him miss 10 shots in the second period but was also guarding him with a sprained ankle.
