Goodbye Chucky Atkins thread
I have always been a fan of Chucky Atkins. This guy, along with Big Ben, was a steal from the Orlando Magic. When looking back on Chucky, I'll remember all those big shots he made, and the quickness with which he could get up the floor and get to the lane. He's got to be one of the quickest guys in the league.
I understand it was a trade that needed to be made, and we did make out like bandits. But, I can't help feeling a little bad for Chucky. Boston fans may not like the trade they just made, but they are going to love the personality Chucky brings on and off the court.

Agreed. Even though I am not a huge Pistons fan, I watch the games on UPN 50. Chucky became one of my favorite players on the team. He with Ben Wallace was the beginning of the Pistons rising to the East again. He was a good role player who knew his role and was very good at it. He will be fine in Boston. They will like him.

I've always been a big fan of 'Da Cheese. He was huge during our 50-win season, and a big factor in our 13-game winning streak this year. I knew he was likely headed out, but I still wish the best for him.

Well I definitely find this interesting...
I wanted my Bulls to trade for him...
We actually have fans on the board that didn't want him and his "HUGE" contract...
One person even said he sucks...
This coming from fans who's team has Rick Brunson as their backup PG...
Sad day.

I'll miss Chucky.
It's one of those things you don't really think about, but along with Ben, he'd been a Piston longer than anyone else on the team.
Outside of Bobby Jackson, I think you'd be hard pressed to find a better back up point guard in the league.
One of the things I liked most about him is how well he took his move to the bench. He actually told Joe to go after Chauncey and the two became pretty good friends which is rare to see when one guy is brought in to replace another.
I'm excited for him to be getting another chance as a starter in this league.

I just picked up Chucky on my fantasy team.
What kind of numbers do you think he will put up in Boston?

Even though my opinion on the Pistons is neutral, I like most of the players on their roster, especially Chucky Atkins. He's a solid backup point guard, and will do a good job in Boston. He might even start, since Mike James is gone.

I had my share of criticism of the guy. I remember Kenny Anderson torching him in the 2001 playoffs ancd I remember him being a malcontent when he wasn't getting a lot of minutes but that being said I am going to miss the guy. He hit his share of clutch shots for us and overall is probably one of the best backup pg's in the game. I hope he finds a niche with the celtics and does well for the rest of his career.

Chucky grew on me more and more the longer he stayed here. He gave his best everytime he was on the court, worked to get better (he improved a lot to me), and most importantly did what was best for the team. Whether accepting his role off the bench or seeing that his defense and playmaking ability needed improvement for the betterment of the team. I wish him the best of luck.
