He dismisses the idea of not drafting Melo because we already had Tayshaun.
He said if Tayshaun was the player for us, why did we trade for Rasheed.

I think that the rasheed deal was great, I think that Tay doesn't lose his spot in the starting rotation, I just think that Okur comes off the bench, at first I hated this whole idea but now I think that we could have a very dangerous bench now with james corliss and memo off the bench

Yeah, his argument made no sense and left me in doubt as to how well he actually knows the team...The Pistons didn't need just another scorer, they needed an inside scorer. Carmelo is a good player and probably will become a great one, but basically he's a bit more versatile version of Rip Hamilton. We really didn't need another slasher/jump shooter, we needed a guy who could score with his back to the basket, which is what Rasheed is supposed to be, and what Carmelo definetly is not.
