Hamilton is scheduled to have surgery Tuesday to repair his broken nose. He said he isn't sure when he'll play again. Hamilton broke his nose in the preseason, and re-injured it this week.

So what happens? Tayshaun plays the 2, Sheed the 3 and Memo the 5? Or does James play the point, Chauncey the 2, and Tayshaun-Ben-Sheed?

AUBURN HILLS - Backcourt help arrived Friday night and more could be on the way.

The Pistons also have an interest in signing guard Ron Mercer, who was waived Friday by San Antonio. Detroit attempted to trade for Mercer earlier this season, using Bob Sura as bait.

Bring him aboard, what's it going to hurt? Not like we are in the situation like earlier in the season with Dupree.

He'd be a capable 2 guard off the bench. Plus, if Rip is out for a couple games (I hope he wears the Laimbeer mask)....

The one position where we have absolutely no depth...at least Rip is going to play 2 games before the surgery. Hopefully we will sign either Glover or Mercer before he goes out, or we could be in trouble.

Isn't the deadline to add players for the playoffs today? I might be mistaken but I'm pretty sure the deadline is March 1st. Therefore, if we want Mercer for the playoffs, we need to sign him TODAY.
