i didnt see the game so how about a scouting report on #31.
He didn't do much. He fumbled the ball a few times on offense. He was in there with Memo & they kind of got in each others way.
He did block a few shots though.
That was the game Fatoine started the game 0-15, then in the 3rd quarter he hit a 3 to go 1-16, and Bill on the UPN telecast said: "And he trots back like he's shooting 15-16...sheez."
Anyone have our numbers before and after the Sheed trade? We're 8-2 since it (not counting Minnesota), and our PPG and blocks have gone up, and Opposing PPG down. It's pretty impressive.

I just got home from this, think I was on the Jumbotron for the Turkish flag. Just ridiculous game. Everyone passed great, played terrific defense, dunks abound. But you all knew that. I thought Rasheed was going to make Linton "Baines" Johnson cry in the first half.
I've got another scouting report on Darko's play yesterday. Yes, he fumbled the ball a couple of times. But he was a difference maker defensively. He blocked two shots and changed a bunch of others and he was only scored on once (Granted, that was ugly. Shirley?! He got scored on by someone named Shirley? That's my grandmother's name!) Overall, a great performance defensively. On offense, he only touched the ball 5 times. Twice he couldn't handle the pass (turnover) one of which was a touch pass on a fast break that should have been an easy layup. Once he launched a long jump shot that looked pretty good but rimmed out. Another time he recieved a pass under the basket and couldn't quite get a decent shot off (he ended up getting blocked). The last time was an offensive rebound and putback for his only two points of the night. His passing was outstanding for a rookie big man, let alone an 18 year old. His rebounding was a little weak. I'm beginning to get a bit concerned over his seemingly poor hands. Why can't this kid catch?
That aside, he played pretty well, was only rarely out of position, and played a significant role in holding the Bulls to 15 points in the fourth quarter (and thus keeping the under seventy streak alive). I think he would play on most teams right now, not because he's the #2 pick, but because he could be a 14/7.5/2/2/1.5 player with good man defense if given starter minutes. Most teams would find time for a player like that. The Pistons are one of the few that wouldn't. They are, after all, the only team currently starting 2 of the 10 best interior defenders in the league. Nonetheless, Darko has been looking pretty good lately. He's not ready in that he is still making mistakes. To my eyes at least, he is ready in that he helps the team. That which is does right is now significantly outweighing that which he does wrong.
Hey my grandma's name was Shirley too...haha
Anyways great game except for all those damn turnovers. Wonder if that had anything to do with Rip coming back...

Note this is not official, it's me tallying up the points with a calculator:
Without Sheed:
Pistons PPG: 87.9
Opponents PPG: 86.8
With Sheed:
Pistons PPG: 92.4
Opponents PPG: 77.0
The real striking number is the opponent's points per game, down 9+ points per game. It shows just how dominant our defense is playing with Rasheed Wallace.
In the Detroit News today, Dumars said there is a way he can keep Memo and Rasheed. He wouldn't speculate how (assuming Elden Campbell gone in the expansion draft). One question asked if he was concerned with the amount of big men he'd have once Darko develops. He simply replied, "My job is to get the put the best possible team on the court."

thanks for the scouting report. the thing i like is he seems to be getting better. i noticed that the team outscored the bulls(big deal) something like 25-15 in the 4th quarter. their defense with darko in there must of been pretty solid. i would like to see him get a little more fired up out there, he seems tentative, this guy is a work in progress, as opposed to a project, so it may take some time. again thanks for the info.
