Hi ya'll... I'm a Trailblazer fan in to give my 2 cents. Wallace had a longstanding fued with a couple of Portland reporters including the main beat reporter. Right or wrong (how would I truely know?) he stubbornly refused to give the guy the time of day for years, and in return Sheed was burned daily in the local press. Good play and charitable acts went unreported, and every misstep was front page news. It was front page news this last offseason when he recieved a moving violation for swerving out of his lane

The Blazer beat report which is supposed to be a rah rah type of look at the team regularly contained Sheed slams. I don't think he really cared but it went a long way to getting him his bad boy image. When ESPN and TNT come to town to televise a game, guess who they get their storylines of what they're going to talk about from?
Like Larry Brown noted, talk to any former coach and teammate and they love the guy. Before and after games it's obvious that guys around the league feel the same. He's a bit emotional, but overall he seems to be a very good guy and dedicated professional to me. His T's are down to the point where they haven't been an issue for years now... he's only been ejected from one game in the last three seasons.
I'm not surprised in the least that he's fit in so well right off the bat, as his game is versital enough to compliment anyone. He's a step below the top teir talents, but he is very good at just about everything as you're finding out. As a big fan of frontcourt players who can D up, Wallace was a lot of fun for me to watch in Red and Black.
I expect smooth sailing for him in the character department and full cooperation with the various press corps of the league, except when he's back in Portland. I also expect a new team to emerge from the East. Enjoy
