Michigan State, Western Both Lose.....
I didn't see the Western game but I did see the Michigan State game and I was almost ashamed of their performance. In crunch time they decide to go on an about seven minute scoreless strech and lose to a Nevada that did not even play their best game. In the first half they were shredding the Nevada defense with nice passing and scoring alot in the paint. In the second half the passing was noticably worse and Nevada put up more points in the paint. The foul trouble of Paul Davis did not help obviously as he is the only post prescence. The player I believe Michigan State is missing the most is Erazem Lorbek the big man who quit the team after last season to play in Europe. He was a promising young talent and he left after his FRESHMAN year. this team would have been much better off this year and for years to come with him on the team.
Now all us Michiganders have to look forward to is watching our brackets crash and burn and Michigan's NIT run
Better luck next year.............

Let's see:
I had MSU into the Great 8 in my bracket.
And I had WMU into the Sweet 16 in my bracket.
Thanks alot, guys. Guess I will just have to root on my Wolverines Monday night in Crisler Arena. Hopefully they can be the Michigan team to get the job done and win a championship: The Not Invited Tournament Championship, in other words the battle for the 65th best team in college basketball. And of course,
Let's go Stones!

I didn't have that much faith in my Michigan teams but I did have both of them winning in the first round. MSU shouldn't feel too bad about themselves though as Nevada just killed a talented Gonzaga team(that I had in the elite eight).

I was comfortable with my MSU pick because I didn't really know anything about Nevada. And with all the big game experience MSU had I thought they would be able to pull it out. That would have set up a matchup with Gonzaga, who I felt was overrated anyway. Then I had them beating a decent BC team.
As for Western Michigan, every year a MAC team makes a run. I just went by trends. Except that isn't going to happen this year.

yeah it wasnt really a fluke, nevada is a good team, and we didnt show up down the stretch.
Nevada beating gonzaga makes the loss a little easier to swallow.

its a tough one to swallow in this part of the country because gonzaga had a senior laden team. everyone was pulling for them. they will be very young next year, back to the drawing board.

State's defense and rebounding really wasn't that bad, they just couldn't score when it counted. I'm kind of fed up with Hill, Torbert, and Anderson. All of them have shown flashes in the past two years but have not been able to get it done when it counts. The fact that not one person on the team could step up and score when Paul Davis was on the bench with foul trouble is not a good sign. I did like how Ager played though, because although he didn't have a lot of luck in that stretch at least he was willing to try to make the big shot. Seemed like all everyone else wanted to do was pass...A very disappointing year for MSU.
I thought Gonzaga (and Stanford) were overrated all year and I was pretty happy to see them both go.

At least I took Vanderbilt and Nevada in my bracket. I had a feeling since the Big 10 wasn't doing so well, their lower team wouldn't do so well.

I'm pissed about that game, NC State had it and let it slip away. They were one of my favorite teams left in the tourney and Hodge, one of my favorite players.
