Pistons and the playoffs...
Now that the season is officially over we can finally focus on the playoffs and tomorrow we will find out who our first round opponent will be.
Some things I'd like to see the Pistons team and individuals accomplish during the postseason:
1. Stop feeding Ben the ball in the post -- I love Ben as much as the next guy, but honestly his offensive game has gotten worse since the beginning of the season (at least production wise). I don't care if he did score 11 points in the third quarter alone tonight, I'm not going to be fooled by that. He should only get the ball in the post on rare occasions. Why give it to Ben on the low block when you could give it to Sheed?
2. Tayshaun Prince needs to stay aggressive -- Mike has pointed out plenty of times that Ben averages more shots per game than Tayshaun, something's not right when that happens. Tayshaun has a whole lot of game and most nights he has an advantage over the guy that is guarding him. He is a hell of a threat when he stays aggressive. So Tayshaun... stay aggressive.
3. Keep the defensive attitude up -- Obviously we have been a team that has been known for its defense the last couple of years and righfully so. We have the ability to shut teams down when we play our best D, so keep the D up fellas...
Obviously I didn't hit all the points, but I wanted to hit a couple. Feel free to add on or discuss the three I posted...

I say we let Elden Campbell start over Rip at the two and play Darko at least 40 minutes per game. Larry Brown can go back to dressing like the days of old and Chauncey Billups can take over the reigns as coach. Bring back Joe D to play the 3 and keep the rest of the starters the same. It will take them by surprise!

Lindsey Hunter should not step foot on the court at all during a playoff game. His defense is good, but Mike James does a fine job also and Hunter's shooting is absolutely abtrocious.

If Lindsey isn't affecting the game defensively, I don't think he should be on the court, but we can't go through the playoffs with just Rip, Chauncey, and Mike James manning the floor.

I think that we need to put rasheed and ben in the post more and pass out of it, like have Billups and hamilton run around screens and get open and I think that it might loosen up the def were against kinda like a decoy thing where it looks like we are gonna post up but play off the guards

Limiting Ben's shots is going to be huge. It's nice to have him as an option, but he should NEVER be our first option, or even our second or third. Especially when you play a low scoring style like the Pistons do, wasting possessions on a guy who has anything but a "soft touch" around the basket is going to kill you. I don't know why Larry Brown still hasn't seen this..Ben has the lowest FG % of his career and lower than any starter except for Chauncey.

Who do you guys feel will be our leading scorer in the playoffs?
Our most valuable player?
Player who could "breakout" in the post-season and have a bigger role than expected?
Your final playoff roster?
Answer all or one, any answer is appreciated.

How many people are on the playoff roster?
I think Rip (a.k.a The Energizer Bunny) will be our MVP of the playoffs. He was big for us last year, and this season he's sacrificing points for assists. He is more of a complete player. As he says, "If I'm tired, I know the player guarding me is exhausted."
I don't think there's a single defensive player that can stay with him. He wore out Reggie Miller when we last played Indiana.

I disagree with this. Lindsey is the pistons best defensive guard. He is great at creating turnovers and pestering the opposing teams point guard.

I think Rip is going to be the leading scorer, although I'd like to see Rasheed take that role. I think Sheed is going to be the MVP anyways. I don't think we're going to see anyone "breakout" like Tayshuan did last year, that doesn't happen very often and since we saw it last year chances are it won't two years in a row. But if it does it's gotta be Mike James. Him, Lindsey, and Darko are the only three guys who I would say play a "minor" role on the team, as opposed to being important or not playing at all. Lindsey can have an impact defensively but can't score anymore and Darko is just not ready. On the other hand I wouldn't be too surprised by a couple 20 point explosions from Mike James.

I think that rasheed will be our MVP, the reason is that he always has big games when it counts and I think that that one thing is a very important thing because the best players come out against the best teams

I really like this year's team because it is stacked full of playoff performers. Chauncey, Rip, Tayshaun, and Ben all upped their game considerably last year for the playoffs. Rasheed has a proven track record as a playoff performer, and Lindsey has a ring.
I really don't think we have any body whose going to dissapear like Cliff would or be flat out unproductive like Curry would.

i think rip might not have a huge offensive series against the bucks, because he will have a tough matchup against redd, but i think they will cancel each other out, which should give us the advantage in the series.
