Tashuyuan Prince
IM gettin more and more impressed by this guy everyday. He has very ubderrrated athleticly as he can throw down some nasty dunnks and even though his jump shot is one the ugliest in the league it is still very effective. He is the perfect fit for the pistons.

I'm also impressed, as he is a Taller Reggie Miller in the sense of being so dang SKINNY, but he can't shoot like Reg once did.

Who knows how good he could be if he'd be aggressive every game like he has been in the players. But Tay is an absolute team player. He is the smartest basketball player I've ever seen, very high BBall IQ. He won't take the bad shots, and won't take the good shots if he can make the extra pass to get a teammate an even better look.

When a young player has a few great games in a row, people really start to overrate him. Tayshaun Prince is the latest example. Other examples from the past couple of years are Ronald Murray, Jonathan Bender, Jamal Crawford, Eddy Curry, Rodney White, and Michael Olowokandi. None of these guys are anything special. They were all just having hot streaks. But for some reason, a bunch of people thought they'd be able to put up the numbers for an entire season that they were putting up during their hot streaks.
Tayshaun Prince is a nice role player but he's nothing special. Don't overrate him just because he's the flavor of the week.

Tayshaun is the perfect all around complimentary player. He can shoot the 3, he can finish on the break, he can handle the ball, he's a good passer, he blocks shots, and he plays great defense.
He is perfect for the Pistons because he really doesn't care about his individual performance as long as the team is doing well. He carries himself the exact same way when he has 2 points as he does when he has 25 points.
I don't think he's the flavor of the moment. He's been playing solid all season, expecially since Rasheed has come. He picked it up big time in the playoffs last year and he's doing it again this year. He's not going to be consistantly putting up big numbers, he just does everything really well.

Nobody said he'd put up huge numbers. You don't have to put up great numbers to be a great player. He is a great player. Remember last year's playoffs when he shut down T-Mac and AI in his rookie season? Prince is a great player comparable to the Grizzlies's Shane Battier.

Yep he's just like Shane Battier but is a much better defender. Prince is one of those guys that not only has ability but studies the game as well. He knows his opponent real well, he studies up on his match ups and team sets. He never tries to play outside of his ability, always looks to create the highest percentage shot and is a great defender.
With the spurs coming into their own I think the defintion of what a great basketball player is will change, and the damage Micheal Jordan did will start to be undone.

Oh, I agree that Prince is one of the best role players in the NBA, and will be for many years to come. It's the people who say he has star potential that I disagree with.

Tayshaun will be one of the best defenders in the league in a few years. He has such great wingspan that even T-mac had problems with him last year. Everytime Tayshaun played, T-Mac didn't score more than 20 points (or somewhere near that mark)

Prince was a tremendous shooter at Kentucky and you don't lose that over night. But, he is a complete player. He could take over if told to do it. He just wants to win. He is almost similar to Kirilenko

I just see him as a quiet, unspectacular type of performer in the regular season who happens to turn his game up in the playoffs. Like Parker.

One on one, even one on two, when the guy they call the Answer is on a one-way trip to the basket, you better just foul him. People can hate all day about the number of shot attempts. But, damn, give him props for even getting them up. He's small enough to have every shot contested. That 39% shooting sounds terrible to the regular reader, but have you seen these NBA players lately?"

Parker? I guess, but Parker does perform in the regular season, it just goes unnoticed (since it isn't seen in the stats). Tayshaun can be a spectacular performer, I mean, the guy can dunk! Did you see his between the legs during the Rookie/Sophomore game? Man, it was sick!

This guy can be unbelievable when he wants to be. Unfortunately, he hasn't figured out a way to bring it every night-he was 0-8 with 2 points Friday night. But he is definetly capable of taking over a game on both ends of the court.
