And who really thought the Pistons would get Rasheed for Atkins, Sura and other garbage? That is one of the greatest GM moves of all time, combined with the worst by the Hawks and Celtics. And without Rasheed, the Pistons would have either not gotten out of the 2nd round, or gotten swept by the Pacers.

It wasn't bad for the Hawks at all. They played better over the last bit of the season than they did early on and they still wound up with what they wanted (expiring contracts) along with a draft pick. The Celtics were alone in their dopeyness, I have to say.

why did we bring this article back again...to prove jackson wrong? I don't see what we will gain by proving jackson wrong. I just want the pistons to go out and fight and prove to the world that the pistons can play with the lakers and make this a great series to watch

One thing that I don't think has been mentioned that I would like to see us do is press more and force a faster tempo. We're going to need every break and little advantage we can get and by forcing a faster tempo we would be using our speed advantage and also making those old, tired legs over there get out and run. Usuallt teams that can run a little have some success against the Lakers because Shaq can't play too effectively at that tempo. I'm not saying let's go out there and run wild, but we certainly have to take advantage of our speed and get as many easy buckets as possible.

What I've been wondering is why don't the Pistons ever use the pick and roll with either Sheed and Rip or Sheed and Chauncey...it seems to me like it could be pretty effective but I can't remember ever seeing it. And at this point it's pretty obvious we need offensive help.

Glad to see the Pistons step up and play with No FEAR. It just proves that Defense is still vital in winning a championship. I'm not saying that Detroit will win the championship, but they will fight for every minute of every game. It will be a close series, and L.A.'s big older guys will be dog tired in every game.

I remember checking this forum around the All-Star break and things were looking bleak. People calling for Larry Brown's head and begging for Darko to play. Man, what a difference a few months and one Monster trade can make
