Ward steps down as SID at Clark Atlanta
ATLANTA, GA – Clark Atlanta University (CAU) Sports Information Director Charles Ward has announced his resignation effective June 30, 2008.
Ward returned to CAU as sports information director in November of 2006 after a two-year hiatus. From 2000 to 2003, he served as CAU’s associate director of athletics and as sports information director. As associate director, Ward, along with former athletics director Brenda Square, developed and launched the CAU Sports Network.
The network consisted of WCLK 91.9 FM (radio) and TV33 (now Comcast Sports South). Collectively, over 1 million listeners and viewers in metropolitan Atlanta had access to the live broadcast of CAU Football during the network’s debut in 2001.
As an award-winning sportscaster, Ward plans to take on more football and basketball broadcast assignments beginning this Fall. He is also co-founder and owner of Imiren **** and will take a more active role in the daily operations of the company as Vice President.
Ward's departure now leaves Clark Atlanta without an permanent athletic director and with no one in the sports information department
