McRoberts has talent. He's 6-10 with above average athleticism and very good ball skills for a big guy. But he's just soft. His problem is totally mental and emotional. He has an attitude and you can bully him. Plus, he went to duke. Boozer and Brand are the exceptions. Don't be fooled.
Redick really do that bad? The guy only played in like half his team's game. I don't think anyone that actually knew about him was expecting him to be a superstar.

What does that mean? In the last 17 years, what other big time college basketball big men did Duke produce that were superstars in college but "flops" in the NBA? Laettner. Ok, I'll buy that. Please, don't even mention Cherokee Parks. Obviously you don't care for Battier.

I was disappointed in Redick, but I called it before we drafted him. I was begging for us to select Brewer, who I guess had a better season. Redick has been very disappointing though, probably more so than I expected. Part of it is his fault, part of it isn't. Firstly, Hill is a terrible coach. Why draft the guy then don't go to his strengths or give him any time? When he was on, his defense was a definite liability. His dribbling was also terrible, I remember him getting stripped (by Kobe?) while dribbling stationary. That just shouldn't happen at this level, if he can't dribble he should be shielding the ball.
I didn't expect a whole lot from Redick, but I expected more than he showed. Even his jumper wasn't falling. Hopefully with an injury free summer he can get back on track, but he'll never be a great NBA player. The athleticism isn't there, and his dinosaur arms don't help him either. Coach K did a fabulous job getting the most out of Redick, but the NBA is a different ball game.

Josh McRoberts, 6-11, Power Forward, Duke, Sophomore
McRoberts’s game is obviously tailor made to a setting like this, and if he is to be evaluated strictly off his private workouts, it wouldn’t shock us at all to see him make a serious push from where he’s currently situated on our mock draft.
Quote:
J.J. Redick, 6-4, Shooting Guard, Orlando Magic, NBA
There wasn’t a whole lot to see here due to the nature of the workout, as we came in expecting J.J. to be a lights out shooter and that’s exactly what we got. He’s definitely not in great shape as you might expect after sitting on the bench for an entire NBA season, and his athleticism wasn’t going to blow anyone out of the gym anyway in the limited opportunities we had to evaluate it. This season was obviously a wash for Redick, but it’s difficult to be disappointed after he barely got a chance to show anyone what he can do playing under a coach on the hot seat all season long. Missing extensive time with the back injury that came up in the pre-draft process last year obviously didn’t help matters much, but this isn’t going to be the last we hear of J.J. Redick.
Wow, people are all over the map on this guy. Pretty much no consensus at all except that he's a good passer. I haven't seen him play, but people are talking about the Nets picking him. So I can look forward, perhaps, to a player who is a good passer, good/poor defender, good/poor ball handler, w/ good/poor energy, and a good/poor ability to finish around the rim. Got it!!!

This guy is very underrated. I think he'll be the steal of the draft. He's very athletic, and has solid post moves. I think he suffered in Duke's system, because his game is made for the NBA, not NCAA.

except dick vitale, ohh my god he was riding him and morrison like no tomorrow during that draft
