You seriously need to get yours checked. McRoberts has a good handle but he can't use it to create any sort of decent shot attempt in the half-court. At least against good competition. The past two seasons I have seen him just dribble in place against any sort of competition. His handles are good but he cant go anywhere with them. He just dribbles between his legs back and forth for an eternity and then passes it.

I agree. McRoberts has got a good enough handle to help in breaking presses and traps but not enough for dribble penetration in half-court sets. I'm one of a few people who root for duke to win but I have been seriously disappointed in mcroberts' lack of development.
The kid has got real athleticism (I remember the McDs slam dunk contest) but for some reason he is unable to bring it during games. He can pass and dribble but he has almost no offensive moves at all (especially in the low post). I've never seen him back anybody down and not end up with a righthand hook from range. If he has a spin move or turn-around J in his arsenal, I haven't seen it yet either. And somebody please correct his shooting form! At least he's a decent rebounder and good help defender.
He needs to say all four years in college but the longer he stays, the lower his draft stock goes. It would be in his best interest to attend Pete Newell's big man camp, too.

Re: Josh McRoberts
McRoberts is overrated, IMO. From what I've seen of him, he's long and very stringy. No post threat, inconsistent jumpshot, not a great rebounder or shotblocker. His passing is superb for a big a man but other then that, he doesn't stand out in anything.

Actually, he's a very good defender and a good rebounder.
He's good at a lot of things, not really great at anything. Yet.

Re: Josh McRoberts
I am one of those Duke haters also, but I actually happen to like McRoberts pro prospects, and I think he will make a good pro player, a few things that he does well that will help him on the next level, he has good footwork, he is a good rebounder, and a good passer out of the post, which frees up your wing players with open shots, and he has the fundamentals down. I think he has to go in this draft though it is probably as high in the draft as he will go, this year and I would be very surprised if he wasn't picked in the 10-15 range.

LOL, I'm not a fan of his but I think he'll be a decent to good player in the NBA. He's one of the more interesting prospects of this draft. Big men with his type of game do not appear every draft. I mean, when was the last time a big in the draft was touted for his passing? Most big men are raw as meat when they declare.
