Marco Belinelli is a 6 foot 5 inch Shooting Guard. The native of Italy plays for Climamio Bologna in the Italian League (Serie A). He is a very good shooter; however a criticism of his play is that he doesn't drive much. He is quick enough to play in the NBA and is a good decision maker. In the World Championships, he put up 25 points against the US.
what type of game he has,who you would compare him to,his upside, etc
and im a knick fan is there a chance he lasts till about pick 20?
Sorry to hear about the Knick fan thing, he looked great against the USA team at the WC and in other games it looked like he didnt do as well, you can pick a lot of 6-6 shooters with decent athletecism to compare him to; Carlos Delfino, Brent Barry, Kyle Korver.....i think he's potentially better than them, he'll most likely be gone by the Knicks pick(which is the Bulls pick correct?)but stranger things have happened.
I liken him to a young Brent Barry. He's surprisingly athletic. Belinelli and Datome are my two favourite Italian prospects.
Edit: I think I may have thought of that comparison after reading his DraftExpress profile a while back. Anyways, I think its a good comparison. Good shooter, athletic, above-average passing and ball-handling skills.

Is Marco playing in any of the all star games here stateside? He does have offensive potential but looks totally disinterested in playing defense last time i watched him. but he's young enough for that to change.
Word is he's in the draft(adjust your mocks accordingly). I think it will be interesting to see how he fares in predraft workouts, a good athlete and experienced player, had his best game in the WC against team USA. Doesnt hurt that fellow Italian Bargnani probably exceeded what was expected of him this year with the Raptors.
This guy wows with some of his highlights, but he leaves the non-scoring statistical columns pretty bare. I mean this year in Euroleague play, he failed to block a single shot and only grabbed 1 offensive rebound in 13 games. Less than 2rpg in 27mpg, even in the Euroleague?
He's obviously capable scoring and shooting and doesn't seem to be too afraid to slash and finish strong. Marco seems to have a fearlessness about him, which is really a plus in a scorer. The rest of his game leaves some decent question marks, though.

Blocks would be the least of my worries for a guard and rebounding would probably be second. Not to make excuses but do we even know how they score things over there, even a bad player would have an occasional offensive rebound fall in their lap, need to see some of these guys come over before the draft and workout against american players then we can compare apples to apples, too much speculation right now, at least for me there is.

Steals would be an important stat for a guard, and he only averaged 0.8spg in Euroleague play this season in 27mpg. You look at the 'hustle' stats, and they're just nonexistent. Marco did play well at the FIBA worlds, but his stats are the same story - solid ppg totals and little of anything else:
For me at this point, he seems a lot more like a Matt Carroll than a Ray Allen or Mike Miller.

Hi guys, like i did last year with the mixes trilogy on Andrea Bargnani (The Magician), i try it again with this long mix on Marco Belinelli, the italian sharpshooter.
It may be too long (7'51") for a standard mix but i prefer to show all the stuff i have on him with just 2 weeks to the NBA draft. I chose the song just because it fits well (lenght wise)...
