Seems like a solid, but unspectacular, big. Is he better than Tiago?

i dont know, but it does beg the question, if you're a 7' skilled white guy are you better off being from Colorado or from some foreign country? i think its obvious.
He's not better than Tiago, not in my book. Splitter has been playing well in Europe as of late.

Still, he again exposed his limitations playing above the rim. In the last five games in the ACB League, Splitter averages 17.6 points and 7.4 rebounds, resulting in five victories for Tau. Rainman, Europe is obviously the better option. Scouts can't see as much of you, which probably would have helped Jason.

No doubt, over there often you have young guys getting somewhat limited minutes, there is also the perception i think that the great white bigman has gone the way of the Buffalo. Across the pond they're compared to Dirk and Pau over here it's KVH and Wally, not always but i think that mindset is there.
Ok, who the hell is this guy. He's getting an insane amount of hype, all of the "experts" are saying he's a huge steal in the late first round, and with his height and supposed athleticism (although I'm sure that will be disproved at Chicago) he could probably jump into the lottery ahead of more known commodities.
Seriously, WHO THE HELL IS THIS?!!? What do we know about Jason Smith?

He's white, so you won't like him
BTW, it is Orlando, not Chicago
I feel bad for Mr. Jason Smith as Chad Ford hype is the kiss of death

Sorry, old habits. Uh.... regarding Chicago. Is Orlando permanent now?
And I guess I have old habits about big white guys too, but I'm willing to give him a chance. I was harshly critical of O'Bryant and HAMMERED Sene last year. I don't think I've ever been more critical of a prospect, and especially a top 10 draftee, as I was of Sene before last year's draft. But I'm willing to give Smith a chance, it's just that he played in anonymity over in Colorado State and I don't know anything about him. I want someone who has seen him play to let me in on him, the man has come out of nowhere, he wasn't even on the radar during the college season!

It's all in good fun, you arent alone in fearing the worst when it involves white players, realistically if you're a tall white guy from this country odds are you arent going to contribute much. Where have all the Larry Birds, Kevin McHales and Bill Waltons gone?

He was on the radar. Notice the date MemphisX started the thread
