Hard to believe that two pretty reputable sites could be that differant on their opinions on this guy. At the world championships this past summer he was pretty much the best player for a Brazil team that had several professionals on their roster. At first look he seems to be a very solid player who is probably not great at any one thing. As for his draft position #3 almost seems out of the question but if contract situations dont scare teams away he would be a lock for a top 10 selection.
I think the mystery about him is pretty much gone = Jeff Foster/PJ Brown; an 8pt/8reb/1blk/1stl kind of post.

His performance in Europe and at the WC would suggest he is better than that, the fact he has pulled out of the draft twice has nothing to do with his talent level. He's a lottery pick unless someone can name me 14 players better.

There might be more I would take but it is all a matter of taste. I am not impressed with him because I do not think his game will translate well to the NBA.
Splitter's game is much more polished than Biedrin's is.
I'd also say that Andris is a better athlete and has more upside.

Splitter had a lot of potential but in the last two years he dont have improved as much as was expected. I'll be very surprised if any team uses a lottery pick for him

Problem is its hard to equate their play over there to what they would do over here. At the WC he was one of the best young players in the tournament, americans included, so wasnt Darko. I have to think if you put him in a major conferance in this country he would be putting up big numbers but maybe not. I guess he would be a senior in comparison. Will need to come over and do well in workouts and he is probably going to be the 2nd or 3rd center drafted depending on who comes out.
NBA and Europe are two completly different things. We probably only have a better idea about Splitter's draft status if he could do some tryouts for NBA teams, but I doubt he will be able to do that with his role in TAU Vitoria.
