He's definitely a unique prospect. I think there are situations where Davis could become a starter in the league, but I think he'll end up a productive 6th like Anthony Mason. I'd like to see him get down to like 265-270, though.

I think he'll be a star. He is big, and very agile for a man his weight. Plus, he has shown that he has a soft touch and good hands for a big man, that is some thing that is very valueable at his postion at PF.
I don't know if he needs to get THAT low. Part of his specialness is his agility at such a giant size. He was an amazing talent in high school at 6'8 310 pounds, and I think that's the area he should stay in. He just can't get closer to 350 like he had been. I could see him as a more offensively talented Danny Fortson at the next level.
Glen Davis currently weighs about 290. He dropped about 45 lbs in the offseason and looks terrific. He has greatly improved his athleticism and got up and got a good dunk in the last game which was something he never did before. His stamina has also improved a bunch.
Im going to the LSU-Witchita State game tomorrow so I'll report more of what I see on Big Baby.

Can't trust guys this big on the pro level to keep the weight off. Hot Plate Williams, Tractor Traylor, Danny Fortson, Michael Sweetney, etc...
Davis should play football. He won't make it in the pros. The reason guys like Craig Smith can be good pros, is because they lost a ton more weight than Big Baby. Smith was 300 lbs at one point, but now he's a rock solid 250. Can Glen Davis do that?

Its not a matter of can he do it because I really think he can. Its will he still be effective at that weight?

The more I watch Glen Davis the less and less I feel like he can make an NBA impact. His new found weight still isn't providing the athleticism that he would need to be effective at the next level. He is still a below the rim player around the basket and his face up game is just annoying to watch. He has that type of skill but it isnt near consistent enough. I like his work ethic but I'm still very questionable on his upside. Great college player no doubt though.
