Brandan Wright is a 6 foot 10 inch Freshman Power Forward for North Carolina. He would already be in the NBA if it weren't for the new rule. He has long arms and great hands. His midrange shot is better than I expected.
NBA teams will love him because he has the mobility to guard the SF position as well so he can fit into any front court rotation.
Current mocks have him #3 (nbadraft.net) and #8 (DE)
He needs to stay in school for one more year. He will just be stuck on someone's bench if he comes out so soon. The potential is definitely there, both on the offensive and defensive end. I love the kid.

I agree, if he comes out this year he is probably going around picks 5-7, next year maybe 1 or 2(things could change). Do the math on the dollars and cents, for his growth as a person and a player another year would do him good. If he was going to come out after highscool, as rumored, before the new rule went into affect then most assuredly he's gone after this year.

I'll do the math on the dollars and cents. The difference between the #1 pick in the 2006 draft and the #6 pick in the 2005 draft is probably around 7 million for the first 4 years of the contract (and you can maybe add another 2 million extra from the qualifying offer for the fifth year. So if you are confident that you can work yourself into the #1 pick from #6 it makes some sense. However it only makes sense if you believe you can work yourself into the #1 pick, but can't work yourself into a big second contract since comming out a year early gets you to free agency a year earlier. I just don't see how a player can be confident that they will be the #1 pick after another year in school, but won't be worth a max deal after 5 years in the league.
I like the way he plays. He's not as ferocious as Hansbrough which I always like but he makes shots look easy. The guy has serious game wish he could stay out of foul trouble...his numbers would be even better.

Heels fans keep trying to underscore how good this kid is. If he went to another program, they wouldn't care for the most part. This kid is a super talent and I can't wait for him to get to the league. I personally think he won't go one and done (but he should), but after his sophomore year, he will be challenging for the No. 1 pick with OJ Mayo, Derrick Rose and Jerryd Bayless.

boy you've got those heels fans figured out, that is one tough crowd.
Wright is an absolute beast defensively. His offensive game could use a little improvement, but thats not a big deal since he scores a lot of points because of his length. He's going to be a heckuva pro, kind of Amare like before his surgery.

Heels fan here and I certainly appreciate Brandan Wright...he was the final piece of the recruiting class and is EXTREMELY valuable...he can score on the block almost effortlessly, play D and rebound, and hit his free throws...he's a flat out stud
