back to Green though. He's projected as a SF in the pros but he is currently playing PF for the Hoyas right? Is he fast enough to guard on the perimeter?
Great game today in win over 'Nova. With Hibbert out, stepped up with 19pts, 9reb, 4ast, and 8blk.
He's a unique player that's been compared to Odom (poor man's), Harrington, and Salmons. How about Granger (with less D, but better passing) or Diaw (with a jumpshot)? In any case, he looks like a very nice SF prospect.

If people just looked at the box score for the Pitt they might've thought he only had an OK game but he won this game for Georgetown. The man just took over in the second half and most significantly in the final minutes of the game. He played great D, made 2 amazing passes and put in 2 or 3 clutch shots in the final minutes. He really does do it all. Jeff will be a top 10 pick if he can keep this up in the tourny.
Here's a link about his draft prospects from the Washington Post's Mike Wise:
he is definatly a pure SF in the NBA even though him and Summers play both Forward positions
his numbers would also be much better at another place
i think the only thing is his passing maybe a little overrated because of the princeton
i dont know if he would be averaging that many assists in another system
but doesnt mean he isnt a good passer i just think that a lot of other guys like Julian Wright, Tasmin Mitchell etc could avg just as many if not more assists in princeton

No way dude. He's a better shooter and a better defender. I also think he is a better passer but also agree fjkdsi that he is a bit overrated in that aspect. I kinda like the less agile, more muscle Odom comparison. He has great range, great ball handling skills, and he's a solid passer just like Odom.

Not quite. Jeff Green is not a pure SF. He's a forward. Al Harrington is a very good comparison for him, unless you want to say Danny Granger and even though I know Danny, I think Danny has more ability than Jeff. Jeff is decent, but let's not go overboard, as being compared to Al Harrington isn't a bad thing as he is a good starter and above average bench player in the league.

Watch him more often. He's hands down Georgetown's best ball handler and passer. He's also a 40% 3 pt. shooter. He's a SF as much as Odom is. He's better than you think. He's also developing a killer instinct you shouldve seen him at the end of the pitt game. He's just going to keep winning.
Dude, I picked Georgetown to win the title in the preseason, do you think I don't watch the Hoyas play? I love JTIII. He may handle it well on the college level, but Odom handled it better than NBA points in college. Let's kill the hyperbole. He's good, but he ain't Lamar Odom.

Jeff Green just won the Big East Player of the Year. He may not be as good a ball handler as Odom but he certainly is a better outside shooter (40% 3pt%) and he can bang inside much better. Here's a quote from Jim Calhoun:
"Jeff Green is just the quintessential ball player," Connecticut coach Jim Calhoun said. "No other player his size has his array of skills. He can put it on the floor, shoot it, and he's one of the league's best passers. He's a matchup nightmare with his inside-outside game because he can post you up or take you out on the perimeter. If his numbers don't blow you away, watching film of him does. He's an unselfish guy who does a little bit of everything for John, and most importantly, he's a winner."
There's also a killer Pitino quote too. I'll try and find it.
Also when he is drafted he will be the classiest guy on any team he goes to. He said that he was completely surprised by the award and that Roy Hibbert, his teammate, shouldve received it. He's almost too good of a teammate.
He also said he patterns his game after Scottie Pippen's. I kind of see it. But more importantly it's certainly a good player to look up to.
Green has some pretty modest numbers for a major conference POY. Nobody really stands out in the Big East. I guess Hibbert, Gray, and maybe James are the other choices.
It'll be interesting to see what he decides this summer. On paper, it looks like it would be very tempting to return to school. The team will have every significant player back, granted Hibbert doesn't jump. They'll also add a nice 2 in frosh Austin Freeman. The Hoyas could be legit championship contenders next season.
From a financial/professional perspective, I would jump if I were Green. He's a jack of trades that just won POY in a major conference. Assuming he doesn't have a complete meltdown in the tourney, I don't see his stock getting much higher next season. There is a lot of talent at GTown, especially in the frontcourt with Macklin and Summers itching to get minutes.
Whenever he jumps, he's a low-risk pick and teams know exactly what they're getting. I have a feeling he'll end up dropping some on draft day as Granger did. He's a sensible, not sexy, pick.
If he jumps this year, I don't see how he slips out of the lotto. As far as SFs or combo-Fs go for this draft, I'd rank them:
1.) Durant
2.) Julian Wright
3.) Thaddeus
4.) Green
5.) Thornton
6.) Brewer
