Re: Mustafa Shakur

You can be certain that I am going to be complaining a lot if Phoenix doesnt draft him with their pick, maybe even Clevelands pick.

Re: Mustafa Shakur

With his size and excellent PG skill he's always been an NBA prospect. He's finally able to put it together this season. He made the right decision by returning to Zona.

Re: Mustafa Shakur

Some tidbits on Shakur from a Mike DeCourcy article.

http://www.sportingnews.com/yourturn...c.php?t=168561

Quote:
"He's taking the ball to the basket," Olson says, "but he's looking for the pass rather than to force his way in there, and he's not running over people like he was earlier. The guys playing with him know if they get open, Mustafa is going to find them."

It's no secret who is missing from last season: guard Chris Rodgers, suspended for eight games in 2005-06 for conduct detrimental to the team, and wing Hassan Adams, whose disappointing season and off-court issues caused him to fall deep into the NBA draft's second round.

Olson is even more guarded than Shakur about last season but is every bit as clear. "It was a case where there were some guys at the guard spots ... it just wasn't an easy communication," Olson says.
Quote:
The pros notice Shakur applying these lessons. One Western Conference scout says perhaps Shakur has improved his draft status and that he definitely has increased the likelihood his transition will be smooth: "When he gets to the NBA, he'll be able to lead instead of just being a young guy trying to find his way."

Shakur is better. Arizona is better. Now, the debates will involve whether Arizona is a No. 1 NCAA Tournament seed and whether Shakur is a first-team All-American.

Re: Any word on what Mustafa Shakur

I don't think he gets a guaranteed NBA deal this year, so he goes overseas to any number of Euroleague teams salivating over an athletic 6'4 point like him.

SACRAMENTO, Calif. - The Sacramento Kings signed two rookies Thursday, including free agent and former Arizona Wildcats guard Mustafa Shakur.

Shakur, a 6-3, 190-pound guard, averaged 10.1 points and 5.1 assists through 131 games during a four-year college career at Arizona. He scored 11.9 points per game as a senior.

First-round draft pick Spencer Hawes was chosen 10th overall in last week's draft and also signed with Sacramento.

The 7-foot Hawes, who is 19, led Washington with 14.9 points per game and shot 53 percent from the floor, all while dealing with an injured knee and ankle as well as a midseason illness in his only college season.
His SL contract includes an invite to training camp, so he isnt signed yet, but has an invite. Not to mention the Kings rescinded their qualifing offer on Ronnie Price.
