Up to 11.4/8.1 per game after putting up 28/10 on the Celtics in a loss. And what's this? He leads the Nets in FG%!!!!
Damn it feels good to be right. I was an early guy saying he should be the #3 pick because of his size and skill. I never thought he was better than Mayo, and there is a lot of great rookie play this year (hello Jason Thompson!), but Lopez is proving that he probably won't be a bust. Good for him.

he put up big numbers in a game that was never close and in which the opposing team started brian scalabrine at center. i wouldn't exactly go overboard thinking that's some huge accomplishment.
oh and nothing he's done has suggested that he should have been the #3 pick.

How unimpressive indeed. If he was even slightly good he would've gone for 40 and 20..

i just thought it was funny that someone used that game as justification for thinking lopez should have been the 3rd pick in the draft.
While I don't think that Lopez should've have been the 3rd pick in the draft, there is no denying that he is a good player, which you have done repeatedly. I can understand if you dislike him as a player, but that doesn't mean that he is bad by any means.

Reason: Spelling error
Honestly some of rocketeers arguments in this thread have been downright idiotic.
Brook in his rookie season is almost averaging a double double with a good 2 blocks per game to boot. His career high this season has been 31pts 12rebounds and 5 blocks.
Whats not to like? Thats a rookie center mind you, and one thing thats been evident is the fact that rookies rarely get calls. If they did, Brook's numbers would be even better.
At least some of your silly arguments have reduced. Still think Chalmers is having a better rookie season than he is? And really did you just claim nothing he's done warrants him being the #3 pick? How about having a better season than Oden for one? Unless of course you dont think Oden is worthy of being a top 3 pick.
I thought Brook was pretty underrated on draft day, and he's even surprised me. These recent scoring outbursts are promising. David Thorpe on ESPN.com mentioned that Brook is becoming more comfortable with his 'power' game. The guy is still only 20; plenty of upside left. Interesting to see how he develops.

Yeah, the whole Robin > Brook thing is still baffling to me a almost a year later.
There was absolutely nothing to indicate that Robin would even approach Brook, yet it seemed to be the popular opinion before the draft. That Brook wasn't physical and didn't hustle, when it was plainly obvious to anybody that had ever watched a Stanford game that Brook was the anchor of that team on both ends of the court.
Robin was downright inattentive on defense at times, a shadow of his brother on offense, and his "hustle" that everybody talked about? Brook was the better rebounder and was a nearly comparable shot blocker, despite usually defending an opponents' best player and Robin playing from the weak side.
We heard all about how Brook didn't have much upside, despite the fact that he was a young sophomore 7-footer with a chiseled frame who could run the floor and do multiple things well on the offensive end. All he did was carry a team that would have had trouble competing in the WAC without him to Pac-10 title contention and a 3 seed in the NCAA Tournament.
Not much upside there, eh?
Lopez is already an above average starter in the NBA, and the scary thing is he's still got a ton of room to improve.
