It's hard to measure how many of his rebounds are "taken away" by someone else, a rebounding rate would be handy, but there are none for college basketball as far as I'm concerned. Numbers aside he just doesn't come off to me as someone who is a particularly good rebounder.
Stanford's games average 64 possessions. I don't know how you think it's possible for Brook to average 10 boards on a slow team next to another 7 footer.
Rebound rates: 20.0% defensive, 11.1% offensive. That's pretty good. Not elite, but pretty good. Robin is 14.2 and 12.5.

I've never bought into that whole line of thinking that a player is only a product of his school. Good players come from all kind of schools. Name me a player that ever became a good player from UW before Brandon Roy?

This is interesting because of some of the players who are rumored to jump, don't come out, where should he be picked? I am not a big fan either, but to say he's not worth a top 10 pick, please give me the 10 guys picked ahead of him.
I'd take him over Kevin Love.

if he shoots 47% when he's the biggest guy on the floor every night, i don't see how that projects to him being a good offensive player in the nba when he'll be going up against guys his size all the time.
i wouldn't waste a lottery pick on him. after that, if i needed size i might draft him but not over a guy like roy hibbert.
The thing is, like HKF has been saying there is no way you can justify picking 10 to 14 players above him.
well i'd take beasley, rose, bayless, mayo, gordon, augustin, hibbert, and love over him. so that's 8 guys. so yeah maybe after that i'd consider taking brook but that's still not close to top 3.

Of the lottery candidates I've only heard that Bayless wants to return to Arizona, did someone else announce that he is coming back ?
I'd definitely take Beasley, Rose, Gordon, Mayo, Gallinari, Arthur, Love, Augustin and Tyler Smith over him (not in that order btw). Then there are some guys I might consider before taking him, like Randolph, Batum, maybe even Westbrook, there are more guys who are in the same boat, but I'm not going to list everyone. I also think that Thabeet and Jordan are better long-term prospects than him although I'm not high on anyone of them.
I see him between 13-18 right now, there is just nothing that screams lottery or Top 10 pick when I watch him play.
Is Tyler Smith really a top ten player though? Will he really go that high? I like him, but I don't think he'll go even close to that high.

Absolutely ridiculous. Darrell Arthur needs to do it in college before I take him seriously as an NBA player. Eric Gordon has some MAJOR questions surrounding him after breaking down in January, and not having the point guard skills. Tyler Smith is not a top 10 guy. I'm a DJ Augustin fan, but that Memphis game doesn't support him going ahead of Brook. What do you know about Gallinari, would you really take him over a legit 7 footer with unquestioned offensive skills?
I could see Randolph, but certainly not Thabeet or Jordan.
So I'm with you on 5 guys ahead of him. Maybe. I can see how you'd evaluate Love up there, but I wouldn't take him ahead of Brook.
