Wilson Chandler
A 6'8 versatile small forward with the ability to go inside and outside. I liken him to a James Jones-type with more confidence in his ability to put the ball on the floor. Would not surprise me to see him drafted in the 21-27 range. 20 years old, but he can play now and really has solid potential down the road. I didn't realize he was in the draft for good till I just read about it.
I like him better than a few other guys (along with Mejia), but I am not sure what teams like him right now.

Re: Wilson Chandler
Hiring an agent is obviously a risk, but this draft isn't great for true SFs. After Thornton and Thaddeus, the talent really drops off. I think he's gonna have to impress at Orlando to go 1st; definitely top 40 pick, though.
As far as 3s on the first-round bubble, I'd rather have McGuire.

Re: Wilson Chandler
You would? Why? McGuire transferred out of Cal because he couldn't hack it in the Pac-10. Meanwhile Chandler was an all-Big East performer as a sophomore. Chandler will be a first round pick.

Regardless of why he left Cal, he had little problem against Pac-10 teams this season:
Oregon St.: 12pts, 7reb, 2ast, 2stl, 2blk (win)
Stanford: 25pts, 13reb, 2ast, 2stl, 2blk (2pt loss)
I think they're both intriguing guys with plenty of upside left. I just like Dominic's more-rounded game.

C'mon RebelSun. The Stanford game is impressive, but Stanford was not a very good team this year (due to injuries), but Oregon State was trash. I am not seeing a more rounded game from McGuire at all. Chandler has a lot of Antwan Jamison in his game and can definitely score on the interior but has range out to 22 feet as well.
Where do you expect McGuire to be drafted?

If he hires an agent, I think he's a top 40 lock as well. Like I was saying before, the talent level for legit SFs drops off drastically after the very top tier (not counting Marcus Williams, Byers, Tucker, Almond as SFs). After that, Chandler and McGuire are the only guys that I would really consider with a guaranteed contract. I think McGuire has the higher 'basement' due to his rebounding and all the defensive turnovers he creates, which would be why I think he's more likely to get a guaranteed deal. He should, at the very minimum, be a very good complementary player. 6'8 athletes that do everything are especially en vogue right now, which helps both their causes.
I think Chandler is the sexier pick but also the riskier one. draft.net projects him as '2nd to undrafted,' which I don't agree with at all. The guy is in for sure, I don't see that many guys with more upside at the very top of the 2nd. I'm not gonna take Reyshawn Terry, Dudley, Nichols, Wyatt, etc ahead of either of these guys.
I really like both players, I just like McGuire a little more.

Re: Wilson Chandler
He's a Knick now. McGuire? We'll have to see.
