Surprised there isn't already a thread on him. I also a little surprised that he signed with an agent this summer. I don't think it's bad decision, though; this draft is weak for points, and he avoids becoming heavily overshadowed when Mayo arrives.
He's tall for his position, athletic, and can score, which automatically means guaranteed money. He's been compared to Devin Harris, which is great for him seeing as Devin will earn the full MLE, at the very least, with his next deal. I see him going anywhere from 11-25. I'm sure the Pacers (or Hawks at #11), Clippers, Lakers, and Heat will give him a serious look.

Like this kid a lot and if Detroit doesn't feel Will Blaylock is a point guard of the future (and he probably isn't more than a backup on the next level), then I could see them using their 2nd first round pick on Pruitt. This kid has a lot of growing to do in his game, but he is a very polished offensive product. To me, he's almost like a smaller version of Penny Hardaway (obviously not as talented, but similar styles of game).

He is sort of a crack whore's Penny Hardaway. I am hoping that Boston lands him at 32, because I think he'll be a better swing guard than West.
How colorful. However I agree that he looks like a solid 3rd guard for an NBA team.

Look, I'm a Gabe Pruitt fan, you can search the Draft Forum I've started threads about him before. And I would really like to see him in green. But, unless we're talking the older, post-injury Penny, Pruitt doesn't even deserve the sobriquet "poor man's". The Orlando-era Penny was a great player, and a surefire hall of famer that got derailed by bad knees. So, yes, "crack whore's" is a more apt comparative.

Pruitt can play on my team anyday. He has just about every skill you look for in an explosive guard. He needs to work on his passing and controlling the tempo/running an offense. Pruitt can shoot, he is extremely athletic, rebounds well, and plays good D. If he develops the way I expect him to, I see him as a good backup PG and somewhat in the mold of Billups.
