With the recent hiring of Trent Johnson I really hope that Anthony Randolph decides to return. I dont think it's going to happen but I think this is one of the few cases where a player can actually benefit in the long run from a coach. Johnson is a good teacher and has put big men in the pro's for awhile now. I don't just wish he'd come back for LSU but for himself. He's going to be a good pro regardless IMO, but I think his learning curve would be improved upon with another season only this time under an actual coach.

Didn't Randolph just hire an agent? Yup he just did.
Quote:
LSU freshman forward Anthony Randolph has signed with agent Arn Tellem and the Wasserman Media Group, FOXSports.com has learned.
"It's done," the source said. "He's not coming back to college."
It's a significant blow to new LSU coach Trent Johnson, who was introduced as the coach this afternoon.
A source close to the situation also said that there's a possibility that LSU players Marcus Thornton and Chris Johnson could test the NBA waters as well.
Johnson will also have to try and make certain that signees J'mison Morgan and Storm Warren stick with their commitments to the school.
Randolph, a 6-foot-11 Dallas native averaged 15.6 points, 8.5 rebounds and 2.3 blocks per game this past season. He will be represented by former NBA player B.J. Armstrong within the Wasserman Media Group.
Randolph, who will begin working out Monday out in Southern California, is considered by many NBA executives as a lottery pick.

I had read it this morning on FOX Sports, but didn't think to link it until you mentioned him. Thornton and Johnson should not even test the waters IMO, because they are not on anyone's radar at the moment (for either round IMO).

I dont see the Bosh comparison. Bosh actually had a solid midrange game at GT and would occasionally hit the 3 ball. Dont think Randolph's jumper is that developed

I actually think his midrange game is pretty developed. His 3 isn't good, but his form isn't bad which leads me to believe with a good shooting coach he may be able to stretch it further.

Do you think that he will be able to hit the NBA three with consistency in a couple of years ?
I don't know if that where his game should go. I just don't see a reason why he couldn't. Some big men have jacked up shooting forms and when they shoot from far away the push the ball or have terrible hitches in their shots. Randolph doesn't really have that problem.
I think Randolph should hit the weight room and develop more inside. He would be lethal if he could ever develop an inside game to go with the slashing ability.

He has insane potential on the offensive and defensive end, along with great size. Giving him around 2 years as a backup will be good, then i think he would be able to blossom into a star.

I recognized yesterday that he was born in Germany, maybe he will be another candidate to play for my home country down the road. I have also read that he expects to grow another two inches, at least according to the doctors.
