Re: Workout Thread
Yeah dude the cheese thing is rough, but I discovered this awesome Daiya cheese that melts and tastes like real mozzarella. I put it on my paleo spaghetti and lassagna. It's made primarily from tapioca. It does have canola oil in it which removes the strict paleo label from it but the fiancé and I are of the school that we'd rather be 99% paleo and happy than 100% paleo and miserable. Lol.

Re: Workout Thread
You can use spaghetti squash for the "pasta" in the spaghetti. Just slice a squash in half, remove the seeds and innards. Heat it up for about 10 minutes in the microwave and then scrape the squash using a fork. Throw your favorite meat sauce on top. I use thinly sliced eggplant as the pasta in my lasagna. The daiya cheese really makes it amazing though. Sprinkle some on top while it's hot and it melts and tastes just like real cheese. But like I said, it's not 100% paleo because it's made with canola oil. If you want to be 100% paleo, I heard of a recipe to make paleo Parmesan using brazil nuts and garlic thrown into a food processor or you can just leave the cheese out completely.

Re: Workout Thread
After seeing some amazing athletes and hearing some inspiring stories up close at the Crossfit Games, I've acquired new motivation to get into the box and work harder.

Re: Workout Thread
Figured I should bump this up.
Been playing in an Ultimate Frisbee league to stay in shape, but playing in the All-Star game last night caps the league/sport until next summer. So with that in mind, I know I'm going to start working out again. I've been doing it a bit sporadically, I have a buddy who is a personal trainer at the YMCA so we've been working out here and there, but probably going to be taking it more seriously now that I've lost my main workout option. Same goes for running, haven't been doing it as much as I was last year because I was getting plenty of running in other ways. How are you guys doing with your fitness? Can't let winter kill you!

Re: Workout Thread
Winter's about to kill me. All I really do at the moment is cardio from my twice/week basketball class, and a sporadic workout I do in my room involving push-ups and 25/40 pound dumbbells. Definitely have to actually hit the gym sometime, and absolutely start on abs again, as much as I hate them more than anything.
Next semester I've lined up my classes to where I have jiu-jitsu, yoga, and basketball in back-to-back-to-back 50 minute sessions every Monday/Wednesday. I'm sure that'll help matters some. Gotta love Senior year.

Re: Workout Thread
I've been trying to do 100 situps every morning, and though I realize that isn't a huge amount of work, it's absolutely better than nothing. Works the core a bit, and helps you wake up.

Re: Workout Thread
Trying to get in better shape myself. I've worked out 3 days in a row now, trying to get at least a mile on the treadmill in before playing some 1-on-1 or 5-on-5. Did 30 mins on the bike yesterday. Unfortunately smoking has really limited my lung capacity but I'm trying to quit that so I can get some endurance back. I will probably eventually get back into weight training, but trying to cut weight and do cardio right now.

Re: Workout Thread
Pushups. It's all I do. If I could incorporate chin ups, I would. However when I moved house recently, I couldn't get the ****ing bolts out of the door frame, so had to leave it (apologies to the Landlord!).
I've been pretty blessed that I've never had to do much to stay in reasonable shape (at least visually). My cardio is improving with playing competitive basketball lately, generally get 30+ minutes and don't feel overly gassed anymore.

Re: Workout Thread
I'm currently taking a course to become a certified Sport Conditioning Specialist.
I'm not a big guy or anything, but I love going to the gym. I like the natural high that it gives me.

Re: Workout Thread
^ I need to reach that natural high more. I think it could be the key to unlocking my potential (yeah, **** off, I know how cheesy that sounds).

Re: Workout Thread
Does anyone know anything about intermittent fasting? I'm thinking of doing it because I think there won't be a difficult adjustment period for me as I already don't eat breakfast. The only thing I'd need to really work on is snacking after dinner, but I think I could definitely get all of my eating down to a 5 hour period.
