Re: Workout Thread
Yeah watch out, I benched for the first time last week because the girl got me an Anytime Fitness membership for my birthday. I was definitely lifting less than I used to and god damn was I sore for like three or four days after.
Ran about 4 miles on Friday, hoping to play some ball or lift today. Trying to do some combination of the three 3-5 times a week depending on work schedule/personal obligations. I'm in good shape but I've been hovering around 160 now for quite some time. I thinned out playing so much Frisbee, think I lost a little bit of upper body mass too just because you don't really use any of that except for reaching out. Basketball isn't a great natural builder either, though my legs are rounding out quite well in terms of their capability. Really debating what kind of shape I want to be in come summer. I'm not a huge guy so me bulking up would probably top out at +10 lbs, and that would be nice and all, but it rarely works the way I want (probably because I don't do enough of the major building exercises). Probably sticking with an active cardio mixed with lifting since that will provide me with a more natural look and be more functional for the sports I'm still playing.

I've been bad since school started(2 weeks ago) and I've only been to the gym once or twice. I was finally starting to progress and I'm up to a nice 180 pounds.

Re: Workout Thread
Ran to the gym, did a leg/core workout, ran back. Definitely going to pay for it tomorrow, but happy that I did it. I went there expecting to do a chest/tricep workout but it was the middle of the day so of course it was crowded. Figured I'd do the right thing and make it a leg day instead.

Re: Workout Thread
School and 2 jobs have totally killed my gym life. I was going 4 times a week and now I'm lucky if I have time to go once.

Re: Workout Thread
Been working out pretty consistently 3-4 days a week for almost a month now. Starting to see some results, but once I'm done with coaching this season I should be able to ramp it up. Pretty excited.

Re: Workout Thread
Upping my supplement game. Currently taking a pre-workout, BCAA's, protein and a multi-vitamin. Just finished up an NO booster and creatine, which I'm going to start cycling off of for a bit. When I finish this pre-workout I'm on (ON's Platinum Pre) I'll cycle off for a few weeks then start back with Craze (very interested to see how it is.)
I'm still able to get to the gym about five or six days a week. I'm also going to be interviewing for a wellness coach job at a local nutritionist later in the week.

Re: Workout Thread
Just spent a whole month doing absolutely nothing. Kinda let drinking and playing pool take over all of my free time for 4 weeks. Oops. And of course that led to four weeks of feeling completely miserable with life in general. And not being able to sleep through the night. Lots of naps during the day instead of studying (preparing to jump into grad school in the fall). Talk about a shitty start to the year.
Lil over a week ago got back to running. I'll start hitting weights again in a few weeks as well. :P Been mostly running 3-5 miles in the 7:30-50 pace range - been waking up and bolting out the door in layers in the 10-20 degree weather, thinking the pace will drop rapidly as soon as it gets nice and I'm in shorts instead of spandex+workout pants and not running in a few inches of snow/ice. Main thing is that for the past week plus I've again felt pretty happy and life feels good. I hate it when I let myself get away from working out - I feel like a completely different human being, one nobody wants to be around.

Just got back from the gym, after a lazy (refreshing) weekend, it's good to jump back into it. Went to Anytime and did shoulders/biceps/abs, then biked to the YMCA to paly some ball. Of course they got kids doing karate or some shit in there so I couldn't shoot around. That shit really bothers me, build another room to do your bullshit in. I pay money at the YMCA SOLELY so that I have somewhere to play ball inside during the winter, I even have a gym membership somewhere else. I get screwed out of playing basketball so often there it really gets under my skin, every time I go either the gym is occupied for a 2 hour stretch or I get kicked out before I'm done because the gym is booked for something or another. Can't wait until the temperature picks back up so I can play outside again.

Re: Workout Thread
Damn, no this is the only one within a reasonable distance. There's an Anytime Fitness right down the street, and my girlfriend got me a year membership there for my birthday last month. I had already had the Y Membership, but I only get a temporary one and it's the Student Semester Pass or something like that. Good for about the length of a semester obviously, so in theory it's great for what I want to do. I would usually just do everything there, but since I now have another membership it's been relegated to pretty much just where I play basketball. I don't use the pool either, not my thing. I like swimming and everything, but not as a workout. Maybe when I get older and my knees don't feel like they used to, but I just can't get into it.
I have a buddy who is a personal trainer at the Y, and I meet up with him 1-3 times a week there to play basketball (played racquetball for the first time last week, which was interesting). So I guess in that sense it's worth the money, but some weeks it boarders on being useless.

Anybody have experience with Achilles tendinitis? I am trying to ease it without sacrificing running. Odd injury... hurts worst when I am not active. I can run fine but the running makes the rest of the time worse...
